Bananas with red wax tips

Ecoganic farming is an accredited system that uses natural ecosystems and minimal inputs to produce various products. Some in Queensland are growing bananas by this method. The bananas are dipped in red wax to indicate they’ve been grown ‘ecoganically’. They were also dearer. I’ve seen them from time to time in our stores but now they are developing an export market for the fruit, sending shipments to Japan. The main target for the bananas is middle-to-high-income-earners and international visitors. Have you seen any red-tipped bananas in your stores? The article didn’t say if they’d been exported elsewhere. The photo is mine of a banana pie.

I have not seen any here. We have two choices: bananas, and organic bananas. That pie looks really good!

Organic farming is prevalent all over but first time I hear about Ecoganic farming. Obviously it does not come cheap.

No, but I have seen pink and red bananas. They are small wild bananas, should be healthier.
