How many of us are sick of the same old discussions?

I have only been a myloy member for a few days, and allready there are discussions constantly being repeated to death. The most commen ones are things like religion, and how mylot works. I dont know how people get to having 1000s of posts without being bored to death. I found mylot really fun for a while, but now there are always the same old topics geting replies. I know there have even been topics similar to the one I am currently writing, complaing about mylot. Do you not agree with me? people should be penalised for posting unoriginal topics.

This comment I made in the beginning only. Even I wrote that my very discussion is being put in other words, carrying the same meaning. I think Mylot people have not designed any checks for it. Instead, I would like to suggest Mylot people to give some topics for discussion and members shall discuss about those topics only.

I agree that many dicussions seems to be repeated around here. Instead of searching to check and see if perhaps their question has been answered they just go ahead and start a new post. It's a bit annoying to have to search through hundreds of post to find something decent to respond too.

I agree with you..I have to browse through atleast 20 pages in any section to find a good topic to respond to. It's really frustrating to see topics with baseless subjects getting the most no. of responses!! And also so many peole jsut cook up their personal problems and post it as a discussion for the sake of a discussion topic..it's attrocious! People who are here for the pleasure of discussion will definitely lose interest no doubt!

I totally agree with you. It's getting hard to spend any time here at all, because there is so much repetition. Maybe a discussion site that doesn't offer payment would attract and retain people who truly wanted to exchange ideas and learn something. In the case of MyLot, I think that they should take a serious look at what is going on and start penalizing repetition and plagiarism more harshly. Don't just eliminate the conversation, but take away earned points also as a penalty. I have tried to start a few discussions based on my interests and areas of knowledge. I tried to keep things going, but I guess that I can't expect everyone else to share my interests or my enthusiasm for my interests.

There are tons of past discussions the same as yours that you have started. So you have joined the unoriginal topic starters. Check the topic before you start one.

Im just about sick of the whole mess. You spend hours on here looking for decent discussions, and type, and type, and type, and only make less than a penny. That is what is discouraging. if only we got paid more than we do. I say we all strike and ask for a raise.

Hi! I totally agree. It's like someone sees a discussion on the topic then immediately runs and starts another discussion on the SAME topic! It's frustrating. I ask questions about things that I need to know and I know there are people here who know more than I do that I could learn from, but the system is so bogged down in garbage that those of us who are asking for help can't get it! Grrrr! Thanks for letting me vent! :-)

i agree with you. i've also joined just over a week ago and already i'm browsing page after page of discussions to find some interesting topics to reply to.. but guess what ? same old discussions/ one line questions.. B-O-R-I-N-G!!!! I mean, get real ppl.. this is supposed to be fun for all of us. juggle your brains a bit and come up w/t something original - that would help all us enjoy mylot. else good members will only get bored and quit after sometime.

I have only been here a few days myself and find it hard to reply to discussions as many of them appear to be similar or are one liners of nonesense!

What's wrong with talking about religion? It's a very important topic in a lot of peoples' lives.

It is for my lot to filter or put a check when same question is repeated. The should also put up the alphabetical list of sdiscussions already done and in the run .This will avoid un neccessary repitition.

i agree with you in that matter,,but some topics such us religion and etc.. are broad topics...which needs to be elaborated more..similarities are ok as long as its not copied and pasted..and we can identify whose copying or not..isnt it??

Sure you have reason because very often the same argument comes repeated many times over and it generates great confusion. Unfortunately many new customers of mylot do not control if the argument whom they want to open exists already and therefore useless superimpositions are created. The staff of Mylot must be taken care to resolve this problem.

true... moreover, most of the discussions are based on established facts... things which cannot be undone. i guess we need to discuss over more creative issues. two things then- one, it'd make the member think over what he wants to say n not type in some cliche lines n two, the discussions wud be much less boring.
