Free Speech

OK, here's what I don't get on mylot. I know there's cheaters, and then there's users. The cheaters try to beat the system to get more money. The users, don't care to beat the system, but they just don't have a lot to say, and therefore seem to look like cheaters with their one liners. I would like there to be a divide between the two, because sometimes while reading a discussion, I just don't have a lot to say, and therefore end up finding myself trying to post more than I really feel. Why should we be penalized for posting sites on here? Why can't we benefit one another with our information? I mean now that we have a MLPD, they will report abuse at the drop of a word, or lack thereof. I just don't understand why the mylot rules are so restricted. Are they afraid of the competition of other websites? I mean do they get paid for us to write more words? I mean what ever happened to free speech?

you can have free speech . No problems . we suggest to not try to abuse the Mylot system . when you do not have a lot to say , you can post just a sentence or two. we donot report the relevant responses even if they are small . But pls refrain from posting : " yes , I agree with _____ " " No , I dont agree with ____ " " thanks for starting this discussion ... " " I also need information on this ... " " thanks for the information / response " The rules are strict because Mylot is a genuine paying site . And this site can not tolerate the spammers . Just try to post within the guidelines . All the best .

I don't see anything wrong with posting something that begins with the phrases you just said. I talk like that normally. Am I not to talk like I do in real life? That seems wrong to me. I type like I talk. I figure as long as you actually have something to say, There is NOTHING wrong with starting it out with exactly the same things you posted there for us NOT to do.

i think u r right in a way,but the site has to keep a tab on people who just wanna make money too.u see there r people who keep copying and pasting the comments or lets say write the same thing every where just like using a typewriter without any sense of the discussion...so the site owners have to think about everything u see.u dont worry carry on wid ur comments.take care.

It's not having the same opinion that get people in trouble. You and I could answere the same discussion With the Same opinion but we would write that opinion differently so that would be ok. It's the taking of someone else's discussion word for word and posting it as your own that pss people off.

That happens to me all the time. And then I get scared because I think I'm going to get penalized for unknowingly posting the same thing. I mean what are we to do, there's many of us here who have the same questions about certain things, and have the same interests. Why should we get penalized for accidently thinking and posting the same thing?

I don't think it's a about freedom of speech so much as the bad apple ruins the bunch. They don't know how else to weed through the cheaters and somebody that is just answering simply. I don't believe that thier is tons of money to be made here so why not just enjoy venting and get some money for it.

i have sen lot of threads as mylot cheaters...i dont understand properly how they are cheating us...

They are cheating us by breaking the rules of mylot to get payouts. mylot has these rules to protect themselves and their revenue sources. If their revenue sources vanish because of the abuse/cheating of the rules, then we honest users are affected because mylot.com (as a site) fails (and we don't get paid and even worse the site could go bye bye).

because short responses are against mylot's guidelines, my suggestion is that if you dont have much to say on a particular subject, don't bother replying to it! :)

That is an excellent topic. I like to read the jokes that are posted what what can you really say? They are either funny or not so I do find myself trying to say more because I don't want to be classified as a "one word responder"

I don't think that you should feel bad or guilty if you only have a couple of sentences to say on any given topic. As long as you aren't posting one-word answers, which aren't legal here on Mylot, then you should be okay, methinks. I tend to be a wordy person myself, so I usually don't have a problem writing at least three or four sentences. I do sometimes find myself saying more than I expected, but I don't find it a strain. I enjoy writing *laugh* I understand your feeling of needing this divide. I don't think that all one-sentence answers are bad! I really don't. But you won't get paid much by Mylot for them, so.. when you can say more, why not do it? ^_^

yep, I know what you mean. Those one liner and those ones that just post a stupid response when they would have been best to write nothing and go on to the ask post. If a post doesn't touch me in some way, I move on to the nest one. I've only been here a few days. I'm enjoying it so far.

Yes I do agree with you. I am the type of person who doesnot say a whole heck of alot. I dont like to drag things out. I get straight to the point. and I dont think they take that into effect. They must get paid for us to write more words.

Oh you have every right to freedom of speech, that's what myLot is all about..express yourself! The only reason myLot has these rules is to rid this community of cheaters and spammers who want nothing more than to make money, by hook or crook. Of course these rules effect even the sincere users but it's all in the game..to gain something we gotto lose something. If it weren't for these rules myLot would have only cheaters because by then all the genuine ones would have left. And about the MLPD, we make sure we report only the ones who violate myLot rules and those cheating the system. Not every one we come across is reported. It is very easy to get carried aawy and report evey one because we are frustrated with a bunch of people, but that's NOT what we do. MyLot has its rules and will do the needful but at the same time it appreciates users who take the initiative and help keep away such violators. Express your opinion but stick to the rules. It is not a difficult thing to do at all!

I could be because some people are people of a few words... Like me and I usually dont talk that much but when I feel my opinion about a certain subject will be satisfactictionary in 1 one line, then should that be a problem?

you know i actualy agree with you on this. i am new to mylots but in the few hours i have spent on here i have noticed that some people a cheaters and just say something to just to get the 2 cents. then you have people that say a few words not cause they are trying to cheat but because they really don't have much to say on the subject. i guess the question would be how to define which on is which guess thats something to think about
