i wonder if many of us are believers of darwins theory of evolution that we came from apes.. darwin's theory goes contrary to our belief in GOD the creator of the universe.

actually, i don't , , as a Christian i do not believe in that crap , , though i respect others who do , , it's just a matter of respecting each others opinions ok? ,, now here is what i think , , that ,, we really didn't come from apes , , i believe that God created man and woman as , , that we did not evolve from those apes just like what Darwin is pointing out , , i believe that we came from dust , , and God, the Creator of the universe was the one who gave us life , :-)

there's nothing wrong with believing both darwin and the theory of god creating. there's nothing wrong with believeing that god is the reason the darwin's evolution theory is. some things can be explain and even in the bible, the stories are condensed to give it a more romantic feel to it.

I believe in evolution. And I believe that God set evolution in motion. God laid down all the instructions, and nature followed them. I believe Darwin's theories have some holes in them - a lot of theories on animal mating habits look flimsy in light of studies done long after he was gone - but more than just Darwin have offered solid proof of evolution. There's an amazing study focusing on the coyotes of Yellowstone National Park, and tracking their evolution in as few as seven generations. Once wolves were introduced to the park, the environment and outside natural factors in the coyotes ecosystem changed. And within seven generations, those coyotes became larger, stronger and more wolflike - well on their way to becoming an entirely different species than a normal coyote. And it was *not* through interbreeding.

This my friend is a big question, I believe in Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest. Even stanch fundamental Christians can not discount the scientific facts that have accumulated through out centuries. I full heartedly believe that science and religion can walk hand in hand, there are too many issues that we do not understand and have yet to be resolved perhaps they never will be. Those that presume to know the mind of God I fear, I believe that God is the creator of the universe but how did he create it is the question. Darwin's intention was never to try and discount biblical teachings but to show a natural progression, evolution to life. Honestly when you look at all of this evidence side by side, it actually strengthens my belief in God and faith. It truly would have taken something of awesome power to have put this wonder into motion.

I am open to any idea and I think that Darwin has a point. I think it could be possible for his theory to be true.

according to me it's the God who created the whole universe and the apes then why won't he create human beings? It was he who created all of us.

No no no, you are wrong. Darwin's theory is just that a theory..and theories cannot be proven..therefore Darwin can be right, or he can be wrong, and until someone actually proves him wrong (because after all theories can be disproven) then his theory is a possibility. Evolution does not go against what god supposedly did. Evolution has some simple ideas that most people mix up. For instance, the theory of natural selection. That states that the fittest survive and evolve to continue the survival of the species. Evolution simply means that we evolve (evolution) into fitter, smarter humans capable of surviving better in harsher conditions. You will find through simple research that humans are not what they were thousands of years ago. You can observe the evolution process through the bones and remains that archaeologists have dug up during excavations. The limbs grew bigger, the skull got bigger to provide more room for a bigger and more rounded brain capable of better thought. The bodies grew bigger to allow height to better allow us to reach things that we could not before and everything else. Evolution simply states that we EVOLVE to become better, fitter, smarter, faster humans. The chimp theory isn't really included in his theory of evolution. However, you will find that we are primates. The human species are primates..we are related to primates, our DNA is over 99% the same. Just because we're humans (and mammals) does not mean we are not our own species..because we are not.

Yeah it is really tough to say for usre about this one. We do however resemble the apes and monkeys. Shoot, some of us even act like them sometimes, LOL. They are so smart and can adapt to the ways of a human and I surely can see the resemblance.

I believe in the word of God only. But, there may be a hint of truth to evolution, as the first humans were quite hairy and hunched over.

I would just like to point out that Darwin's theory actually says that humans and apes both evolved from a common ancestor, which is not the same as saying our great* grandparents were chimps. And if god did create us "whole" I find it amusing that we actually more similar to pigs than monkeys, anatomically speaking. -Just and observation...

Who exactly do you mean when you say " our belief in God " because I don't think everyone believes in god.. I'd say half the world doesn't believe in God. I however do, and I don't believe in Darwin's theory of evolution, because I am a christian. But I don't think that people who do are wrong.. they believe what they think to be right, and isn't that all that matters? That people believe they are right?

yeah i believe in darwin's theory rather belive his theory then all the crap about religion and hell and heaven and u after do what god tells you and all that crap its just two faced crap trying 2 get you to believe by trying to scare you.

I do beileve in Darwins theory even though I believe in osme sort of higher power. I am not christian, i do not believe in god but still darwins theory is compatible with christianity. First of all if the supposed christ actually lived and well you know the rest, he still was interpreted by the people of the time and therefore the image of the universe came from the people who made the interpretation and not from the divine. Another great theory is in the book Memnoch the devil by Anne Rice, you should read it.
