Do you buy Girl Scout cookies?

Girl Scout Cookies - quite an array of yummy delights... but a bit pricey

It's a big thing here in the States and the Girl Scouts organization makes most of their money this way. Do you try to buy GS cookies each year? Do you have a hard time finding them sometimes? Or are you usually bombarded with little girls and their lists of cookie sales? What's your favorite? Mine are Thin Mints and Tag Alongs.

I try to buy a box or two each year from a local girlscout. I am crazy about the caramel striped cookies, can't remember the name of them. I also love the thin mints. Many people complain about the cost of the cookies for the number of cookies received, but they are missing the point. Without that profit margin, the girlscout organization wouldn't make any money. We have to remember, they are sold as a fundraiser! Go Girlscouts!

I buy Girl Scout Cookies and my favorite are the Thin Mints. Many years ago, I was a Junior Girl Scout and sold cookies for $1.00 a box, but now they cost $4.00 a box. I like to support programs that help young people in my community.

Oh, I love the thin mints. They station the girls outside Wal-Mart now so theres no escaping them. I remember the old days when you would see them coming up the street, you'd turn off all the lights and hit the floor till they passed by, a pool of drool spreading acroos the carpet as you imagined those delicious thin mints.

That's why I love having the booths/tables set up outside of stores with GS cookies. When I've had years I don't know a scout.. I can purchase a box or two, feel good about helping my fellow scouts and get my fix! lol

Well, as a former Girl Scout as a kid, a leader when my oldest was young, and now just a mom of a girl scout, yes, we buy lots of cookies! lol! My favorite are the Tagalongs... they are the ones that are a chocolate covered peanut butter cookie. Yummmm! We turn our orders in for cookies on Monday and so far we've sold right around 100 boxes. DD wants to get to 110 cause that's where the next prize level is ;) Guess I'll be buying more cookies than I thought! Oh, and they freeze really, really well! lol!

I am a Girl Scout Leader. We have cookies. Lots of cookies. I have all the cookies for the cookie booth in my dining room. My poor dining room looks like a warehouse for about 2 months out of the year. I just scheduled our third cookie booth. Yes, the cookies do freeze well if they make it that far. I usually buy 2 cases just for my own family. My favorite are the Peanut Butter Patties and the New Lemonades. My granddaughters sell their cookies at a different time of the year, so I get cookies from them also. This way I can have cookies all year long. This year our troop is sending a case overseas to my son's military unit in Iraq.

I love the Lemonades that they just came out with in place of the lemon sandwich cookies. I've had numerous customers come back wanting more lemonades after they tried them. lol My daughter ended up selling over 500 boxes of cookies this year compared to only 200 last year. Almost paid for her camp this summer.

Why is it that they always come out right after the holidays when everyone is feeling guilty about their weight? I love all the flavors and yes they can be frozen. But, the price is extremely high and I live alone. There is no food police here to stop me from consuming all the cookies quickly. Darn! Also, I like those darn things frozen too! Curses! The times that I can afford them is when I can't find a girlscout anywhere. Cute little girls, aren't they?

It depends on where you are living. My best friend is in the Rochester area and theirs come out just around Thanksgiving! Much smarter if you ask me... think about all the holiday eating we do and how we toss aside any thought of "healthy eating" for at least a few weeks! lol Here where I'm at they sell now and come in around March I think.

Mint Cookies - Girl Scout Cookies are the best!
mmmm Girl Scout Cookies....mmmmmm To me they are some of the best cookies. I'm like you I like the thin mint ones. I put them in the freezer to get them nice and cold. I haven't seen them here in the South like I did when I lived in California. I think I need to try extra hard to track them down because I miss them cookies. Did you know they make ice cream with some of the girl scout cookies to?

I don't see many Girl Scouts around here selling cookies. Sometimes I see them in front of grocery stores. When I do, I buy a box or two to help out. There's one I really like, I forgot what they were called, but they were chocolate and chewy. Yummy. The Thin mints are good too.

I love girl scout cookies, I bought like 13 boxes this year because my 2 neices are both in girl scouts. I do not going to stores where they are standing outside though because i think they are begging people to buy then. My favorite ones are the peanut butter patties.

I buy Girl Scout cookies every year. Especially from the ones selling them at cookie booths. My daughters were both Girl Scouts, and we spent countless hours at cookie booths listening to every excuse in the book not to buy a box. We never really seem to have a hard time in this area finding them for sale. My absolute favorite are tag alongs, and I could eat the whole box myself (sad, but true) :-)

I love girl scout cookies, I used to work with a GS cookie Mom and used to get them, about 8-10 boxes and then freeze them. Now I know of no girl scouts, so I don't get them. Love those frozen thin mints. When I used to sell them they were $ .35 a box.
