Why is that? If you're pretending to be someone else, why? I've tried both. But haven't pretended to be someone I'm not in a long time now. I've met a lot of great people when I was pretending but couldn't meet them because of all the lies.

Am always true to it. Lying is not part of my personality. That's why i easily get dissapointed to some people who tends to be lying at all times. I'm tired of it..

Of course I am always myself. Lying takes too much energy and you have to remember all the falsehoods that it is just not worth it. Also you never know when you are going to meet your next great friend and if you are not yourself you may miss that person. Get really aggrevated when I find someone is pretending and won't admit though it is obvious. Some are really bad at it.

"And indeed there will be time to prepare a face to meet the faces that we meet," said my old friend T.S. Eliot. I have friends whose online personalties could not be more diametrically opposed to their "real" self. Personally, I am who I am, and people can either deal with it or not as they see fit. If that causes some people to leave my company, then so be it--I probably would have grown weary of them anyway.

I always make it a point to show my true self to others. I don't want to go around boasting of things that are untrue. I also don't want to give false impressions. It'll just look bad especially if people find out the truth. It's better to just show who you really are. Less complications... Lol. =) When I meet new people, I act casually, I don't try to impress them. I just let them know the "real me"... If they cannot accept me for who I am, then they aren't worth being with in the first place. =)

Most of the times YES. I want to gain friends by chatting so I am being my real self. When chatting with someone for the first time I am very cautious in giving details and try not to be too personal. After several times, you will somewhat know his personality and you will know/feel if he's sincere or just playing. I have also gained real friends through chatting thats why it is right to be yourself when you chat.

I've tried both and neither one worked. People tend to judge people or stray from people just from their first glance at them. I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not just to get noticed or talked to. We are who we are and if people can't accept us for who we are, then they are missing out, in my book. I have went out of my way and done things that I normally wouldn't do just to fit in. But guess what? I still didn't fit in and got used LOL. I get tired of that. Don't you?
