yes, I love having a dishwasher. when we moved here this house had no dishwasher and I needed one so we had a kitchen cabinet removed and had a dishwasher installed.

that dishwasher must be big since you removed a cabinet to fit it in. i wish we could have dishwashers here in our place.

at least you have alternatives. but i think having a dishwasher is convenient as you just put all your dishes in and it does all the job.

Both. My dishwasher breaks my glasses so those are done by hand. and if I dont have many dishes to do I will just do them by hand.. but if I have alot to do and I am too lazy to do them I use the dish washer.

at least you have an alternative way of washing your dishes. here in our place, majority of the people wash their dishes manually or by hand.

I think that 98% of the time we wash the dishes in our house manually, because it's quicker and easier. The dishwasher only goes on about 1 or 2 times a week and that's usually after a big or messy meal, something like after a sunday roast.

We wash our dishes by hand as we don't have space in our kitchen for a dishwasher. My parents have had one for about 15 years and actually they only use it once a week or so or when they have guests. As it's just my husband and I at home we don't really generate enough washing up to warrant having a dishwasher. We also take turns to do the housework (including the washing up) as we both work full time and bring in the same amount of money to the household. When you have someone to share the washing up with it doesn't seem such a chore to do it manually.

does a dishwasher occupy a big space? i havent really seen a dishwasher but by cousin who stays in the US says it is quite big. washing dishes is not really a heavy task to do. in fact i like doing it.

I wash dishes manually. with the help of the faucet, the dishes get rinsed and it is easy to clean it since the pressure of the water removes the stains and as well as it neutralizes the soap so that it would be easier to wash.

If i'm cooking, I will wash dishes as I go, however, if I'm grabbing something quick to eat or not cooking, I put all my dishes in the dishwasher and let them go...lol..I hate washing dishes..

me too.. we don't have a dishwasher. good for you, you have your sister to wash the dishes.
24 Feb 07
I do both, we have a dishwasher but only use it if it is going to be a full load on the basis that they are quite slow and use a lot of energy. Usually if it' just a case of washing up a few pots and plates then I do that manually, it doesn't take very long and uses virtually no energy so it's better environmentally too.

We do it manually. Even my sister who lives in LA, California manually does it. According to her, Using a dishwasher doesnt save her a lot of time. they still have to wash the dish with water before putting it in the automatic washer
