How long have you had it? I have a Dell pc and I don't like it at all. Since I bought it, it's only given me problems. Anyone have a Dell and unhappy as well?

I had a gateway until last night. The piece of crap which is less than 3 years old just shot the crapper last night. I heard that Dell's were fairly decent, maybe not. What sorts of problems are you having with it? If you are thinking of buying a new one, DONT BUY A GATEWAY!

My pc is an assembled one. I had in the past a brand pc but I think is better use an assembled. You can decide what you put into and what brand for every single part of it. Usually they work very well.

I have just bought an e machine and so far its been great ...I have always heard good things about a Dell pc ...maybe you just got one that isn't working properly ...if you have your receipt take it back ...thats alot of money to pay for something that isn't working well for you ...

My first new computer was a Dell also. I had nothing but problems with the one I had also. I had to call customer service I don't know how many times about it. They had me on the phone for hours trying to figue out what was wrong with it. Finally, the warranty expired and every time I called Dell with a problem, I had to pay $50 for them to talk to me on the phone for 1 hour only and still didn't get the computer fixed. They should have sent a technician to fix my computer when it was under warranty and I was so desperate at the time, I should have not paid the $50 to them but too my computer to a local place and paid for the repairs. I still have the computer and will get it fixed one day, but right now I bought me a new computer system from Emachine and I like it so far.

So sorry to hear that you are not pleaed with your Dell. I've had a Dell for a number of years and have been pleased. Last summer I bought a Dell laptop for my daughter and that has also worked well. Truth is though, with all this electronic equipment, there is a chance it will break - then you have to deal with the pain of repair or replacement.

I have an eMachines computer, which is a Gateway, I believe. It didn't cost much and is a great computer.

I have a Dell Dimension DIM 3000 INTEL R Pentium with windows XP Home Edition 2002 version and has SVC Pk2 2.80 GHz 2.79 GHz and .99 BG RAM They built it for me with me telling them the things I needed to do and they were kind enough to tell me what I could add later if and when I needed to. I have not had problems except when I had PeoplePC and now that I have Netscape and it is cheaper to boot. I am computing fine and dandy. Only problem is my dial up. Until Vista is fixed I will not be upgrading anytime soon unless the next one is Vista ready. Sorry you had problems. With more information I might have been able to stear you toward happy computing.

I had a gateway for the last 8 years and I never really had any problems with it. last year I upgraded to a laptop which is an Averatec and the only real problems I have with are that is heats up too much and then shuts down, and the battery life is kind of short. Otherwise I am seriously pleased with it. I bought the gateway new, but the laptop was refurbished. I think I like the refurbished one better because it didn't come with all the crap software that you seem to get on the other ones. My sister has a dell but she hasn't really had any problems with it but she doesn't like that she can only buy Dell ink for the printer. All the stupid crap they install on it bothers her too because it takes up space and uses up resources.

I have a computer 4 years old that satisfy my needing, it's a Compaq Presario, the only additional operation on the hardware i have done has been to improve the RAM memory to 512kb which has set faster some operations. I think i probably will change it not before two-three years

I have a Dell desktop PC. I don't like the fact that the casing doesn't allow much tweaking of the hardware. It is also prone to overheating.
