I was looking in my wardrobe the other day trying to part with some to send to the Charity shop I have the suit I bought when My eldest was married 22 years ago It is classic style and so wont date , My clothes range from a 16 to a 22 , I keep saying " I'll keep it just in case" my hubby asks in case of what , I laugh In case some of me falls off and I can wear them again , I discovered today that my new healthy eating regime is working and I HAVE gone down a dress size and I can get things on that I haven't been able to in years , I now say " See I told you " lol ,Am I the only person to do this ? live in hope lol xx

I have quite a collection of clothes in 3 different sizes! I need a decent wardrobe for work, so when I gain or lose a few pounds I need new clothes. I have finally become smart enough to keep the "big" clothes in the back of the closet. I used to give them to Goodwill when they became too big, but I would end up spending money to replace them at some point down the road. I much prefer the other way, though, when things that have been too small all of a sudden fit again. It's a great feeling, isn't it? Congratulations, and keep up the good work!

The clothings sizes in my closet used to range from 12 to 18. However, I cleaned it out pretty well last time I moved, so I don't have that big a range anymore. The funny thing is, the items that actually fit me are still many different sizes, depending on brand and style of the item. It's frustrating how women's sizes have no consistency whatsoever. What's bothering me right now is that I find I'm now needing some of those smaller clothes I got rid of. After having my son, it seems like my shape has changed a lot. So while I weigh the same now as I did before I was pregnant (my son is 9 months now), I actually don't fit into the same clothes I did then. I can't see looking in the mirror exactly how my shape changed, but it must have. So soon it'll be time to go shopping for smaller clothing, but I have to have the money first.

You're not alone friend..I am the same like you do.I remember when i started size 6 and every year of my life i go up one size till 14.During those years that i was still working on a cruise ship i normally have 7 months on board contract and 2 months vacation. You won't believe this..When i am on board i lost lo'ts of weight like size 8.Then whenever i am home i put on a lot weight probably because i enjoyed my vacation hanging out w/ my family and eating all the favorite food that i missed on board. The result you need to buy new wardrobes. But i kept the old ones.I decided why should i get rid of those when i know that i can used them again.I have clothings that are so casual will never go out of fashion means simple Linen cotton tops and formal trouser's.Well now i am home i do size 12 at least.I tried to stay on that size and even loose more.Wish me luck w/ my diet!!!

I have sizes going from 10 & 12 down to 4 & 6. I have actually been going down in size. Thanks to some diabetes-caused stomach problems that went to a whole new level, I am eating much less than I did 2 or 3 years ago. Therefore, I am a much smaller size, generally, than I was. I did the opposite about 15 years ago, when I met my husband. I wasn't eating much then either, but btwn him and my mom (I had to move back home) they fattened me right up. Most of the "good" clothes I have will be altered as time and money permits. I just can't afford to replace them - Nordstrom suits aren't cheap!

Ok, I hope this doesnt post twice because I have no idea where my response went when I hit preview. Anyways, I was saying that this post rings so true for me. I have clothing ranging from 4 different sizes. Partly because the sizes in the different stores that I shop in all run differently. It's actually quite humorous that I can wear something one size, and then something a few sizes bigger the next day...and they both fit fine!! But I also have a huge problem getting rid of old clothes. I often think, well who knows? I might wear this one day. I just recently began to get rid of some of my clothes that will never fit me again!!! My jeans that are so small I can't even imagine how I ever fit into them.

Hi, yes it is funny in my wardrobe I have clothes ranging from 14 to 20, as for a couple of years I go from small to large but at the moment I am on my diet as you know and so my clothes size has gone down a lot and now back into 16, but I am wonderfing if I can get back down to 14 which would be great!! No you are not the only one, have a great day.

I haven't ever really checked, but I do have some clothes that I can practically camp out in now lol since I lost about 70 pounds. In fact, I had to give my jeans and pants away to other family members because they were falling off of me. But I'm still not that skinny, don't get me wrong.. not skinny at all. LOL. But I do have a few different sizes since I've been losing weight.

I have clothes from size 14 all the way up to size 26. I have lost 150 lbs over the past 1 1/2 years and am somewhere around a size 20 now. Hoping that if I can get the excess skin removed (gotta find the money first) I will fit into the smaller sizes. I have gotten rid of some of the larger clothes, but can't bear to part with the smaller ones, hoping I will be able to fit into them again. I'm probably between a 12-16 if I didn't have all of the excess skin around my middle.

Since I have lost about 180lbs from gastric bypass surgery I have cleaned out alot of sizes. I still have about 7-8 different sizes in my closet if you count my husband's clothes. If you are like me your husband's clothes are just an extension of yours, meaning you get to wear them too.

I do exactly the same. Im currently a size 24 but i have a size 10 little black dress in the back of my wardrobe that has never fitted me. I bought it in a sale when i was a size 14 hoping that one day i would fit into it - 12 years later and three kids later it wont even fit my leg nevermind the rest of my body - but yet i cannot part with it. Dont know if its because it stands for what could have been or what might be in the future. No doubt it will be in my wardrobe until im well old!

Hi weemam this one made me laugh - I still hsve a size 10 dress from acouple of years ago(ok about seven or eight years ago!) and still have some size 20 clothes that I needed a couple of years a go(true this time) Although I am now usually a 16 I think some part of you thinks that they will always be handy if you change size again... what are the hopes of me ever going back to a ten- virtually none but it is nice to dream........

I used to do that my friend, I was a 38 inch waist and when I started to go to the gym I went down to a 34 inch waist, I had some lovely clothes but that were far too loose on me, I did think about keeping them, but I thought NO! I do NOT want to go back to "38 again, but I kept one pair of trousers to remind me of how much weight I have lost. Now about ten years later I am still a trim "34 which are quite baggy on me. My shirt size has never really changed, and my shoe size is always 10 so most of my stuff are the same size. A lot of sweaters and hoodies are large sized because I am pretty muscular up top. I can actually fit into a "32 waist now! Thanks to the gym.

Hehe, way to go weemam! I've been watching what I eat since a month and I've dropped 2 pant sizes. We went shopping last weekend and I bought 3 pairs of jeans. I tried my usual size but it was ill fitting so I got the next lower size. I was so pleased:) I in fact am buying clothes which are smaller than my usual size so I'll be motivated to lose more weight. It is tempting to check my wardrobe every time and say, I want to wear that dress/jeans badly, so I gotta lose more weight! In reality that is suggested by weight loss motivators. They say the more you have only the clothes that will fit once you slim down, the better your drive to losing weight. I have a range of sizes now. Not a big range though, all close to my previous size.;o)

Well...My size is 10 and have been for a while now, however, I still have size 12 and found a 14 the other day that I gave my friend. SO for now I'm content with 10's and 12's cause it seems like during the fall seasons I get back up there by 12's..lol...

I have a couple different sizes in my closet -- some things I save because I liked them so well. Isn't it strange though how you will just quit wearing something for a long time and all of a sudden you see it in the closet and think - oh wow! I can wear that! lol

LOL. I have about 4 different sizes in my closet also. I have size 9, 11, 13, and my latest size 16. Alot of my clothes I grew out of about 3 years ago. some of them are brand new that I had gotten for Christmas one year before I started to gain some weight. I hang on to them also because I am hoping that one day, I will be able to wear them again. I also keep clothes for my daughter to grow into and wear too.
