As some of you already know I was away on a short weekend getaway with my husband. We went to Houston to meet up with friends. We had a great time. We left on Friday evening and reached by night. It was a 4 1/2 journey. We went in a friend's car. We had to pick another friend on the way in College Station (Texas A&M Univ.) On the way the sunset was a sight to see and it was more fascinating to see the sun setting in the West and the moon rising on the other side. so on the right side of the highway the sky was a riot of dusky colours and on the left it was an inky blue with the moon. I will put up the pictures in my profile shortly. That night we didn't do much, just caught up on old times. On Saturday we went to the Houston Rodeo, it was very good. There was a Carnival and a Live Stock show too. It began to get a little chilly by evening so we didn't spend much time at the Carnival. Later we all went for a movie and then went Bowling. We got back home at around 2:30 a.m. and then we watched another movie (The Departed) Well we didn't finish the movie though and since all of us were very sleepy!lol The next day we went met another couple and all of us went out for lunch together (10 of us) and then we left Houston back to Dallas around 4pm. It definitely was a fun trip and I feel so relaxed and this trip was a good break from the usual monotony here. One thing I surely missed was myLot and all my friends here. Thanks to those who wished me a good trip before I left. I had a very good one:) I am yet to catch up on a lot of posts and discussions, which I will today. So that was my fun weekend..how was yours? What did you do?

Sounds like a fun time. My weekend was pretty slow, but nice. DH was away all day Saturday, but we got to watch a movie together, just the two of us after the baby went to bed. And Sunday, we hung out and did some window shopping, and had a nice relaxing dinner. We don't get to do that much, but the oldest kids were at their mom's and so we had some time alone. :-)

Hey greengal it sounds that your trip was really good. I am glad that you enjoy the trip and weather was in your favour:). I know how much fun it is to watch Rodeo. When we were in Kansas we watch it many times and every time we enjoy it very much. I love to watch sunset too. My weekend was good. We had one birthday party of one friend's son, so we went there and enjoyed the party very much. After a long time it was a good gettogether, because weather was bad for so long.

That's nice sweet, ya we had good weather all along , but was a little colder than I expected. Unfortunately I hadn't taken along warm clothing so I felt uneasy. But on the whole it was fun!

Nice to hear you had a lovely weekend my green goddess! And thanks for sharing the experience with us as well as the beautiful photo of the sunset, it looks truly gorgeous! We had a pretty chilled weekend although hubby worked Saturday hence I was on mylot for quite a few hours. We went to my parents for dinner in the evening as my cousin and his wife were over too and we have a nice time although didn't stay for too long as hubby had started work at 6am and was pretty shattered. Sunday was a very lazy day, we spent a lot of it in bed LOL! x

Thank you for sharing your weekend trip with us, I was very interested in how the weekend went for you and it sounded like fun! Trouble is, it goes far too quickly! You don't realize not living in America just how vast the country is, and 4.5 hours is a very long trip compared to living in the UK. I envy the sunset! I love sunsets and it makes you appreciate the wonders of nature. My weekend was the typical one I went to the gym Saturday, had a takeaway and watched Big Mommas House 2 which was very funny and an awful film called The Hills Have Eyes, I love horror but this film was dire, it was a B movie, a total waste of time! Sunday I relaxed in a sauna to rest my achy muscles after a week's work out! Also relaxed in a jacuzzi! Anyhow welcome back! If like me when I went away for the weekend on my return my inbox was bursting!

I am glad you had a had a good time. I don't want to talk much about my weekend lol as it was pretty bad but at least i am here with hubby for one more month so when i am with him i don't want to make more problems. We had a touigh time with our computers and one has crashed so my hubby is not very happy. It's his main one he uses for his telly work and my dj kit didn't work..so again it was frustration all round. But hopefully this week will be better. I alsogot downrated on mylot so not a good start lol.

I visited a friend that came up to see everyone. After that my boyfriend and I spent the night at my place. We hooked up our computers and had a small LAN party, hehe. I made him some spagetti and meatballs. The next day he went home and I did my own thing for a while. At 8:30 I started cooking a late breakfast dinner with banana nut muffins, french toast, and diced potatos with eggs and cheese. I brought that over for him and I to have for dinner and we watched Battlestar Galactica with his roommate. It was a pretty relaxing weekend, and I enjoyed it. Bowling eh? It's been years for me. I love to bowl though. It doesn't matter if I can't break 100, it's still fun.

That was a fun weekend. It's always nice to spend time with your old friends and catch up on the old times. As for me, I think I had a pretty good weekend also. I have to work overtime last Saturday though, but when I reached home, I was greeted by my husband and my daugther and that made my day. Sunday, me & my husband attended the baptism of the son of my Hich School Friend. Most of our friends we're not able to attend because most of them are out of town and have previous engagement. But we still manage to have fun because I haven't seen them for months now so just having a conversation with them makes me feel happy already. Then after the baptism, me and my husband took my daugther to active fun, it's a play area for kids. And my daugther really had fun. We played with her and since my husband brougth his camera with him, we we;re able to take beautiful pictures also. After the tiring day, we head straigth to church to hear mass. After the mass, we went straigth home to rest after one tiring but fun day.

Wow was my weekend? Busy, as always. On Saturday a pair of my son's friends visited us and I had to stay the whole day with them. They are only 7 and I can't leave them alone. We went to the park and then in a pizzeria (restaurant where you can eat a pizza). I and my son came back home at 9,00 p.m., I was very tired. Happy, but tired. On Sunday morning I and my son studied together and in the afternnon we visited my parents and my grandparetns. We came back home at 7,00 p.m. we had supper, we watched TV and then we went to bed. That's all folks!

Glad to hear you had a nice weekend. Mine was Ok, 2 grandkids spent the night Friday night so I didn't get any sleep as they both wanted to sleep with Grandma and although I have a queen size bed they (1 & 4) are both bed hogs. Saturday morning realitor showed my house then in the afternoon my landlord stopped over - I told him I was really disappointed about them selling the house. Long and short of the conversation he told me to make them an offer and they might consider a landcontract and let me buy it. I have no idea what to offer as I know they are asking way more than I can afford. Going to have to do some major research before I take that step.
