I don't like getting flowers for the traditional Valentines Day or other holidays, however when my husband suprises me with flowers for no reason, it really warms my heart. It shows me that he thinks of me other than just on holidays. Like the other day, he went to pick up my son's birthday cake and brought home a dozen roses for me. I don't usually like red roses, I prefer peach or coral, and that's what they are. My husband also likes it when I suprise him with a bunch of flowers (I usually just get one of the premade bunches, not roses). Do you like it when your spouse gets you flowers?

I love flowers when it's bought by me or my spouse. We usually place the flowers next to the tv because it helps eliminates bad energy waves and calms it down (I read that in a feng shui book somewhere). During the summer, we would go out to the rose garden park and my spouse and our son would stop and smell the roses :-) I love orange and yellow flowers because it helps alleviate depression and lifts the mood. I sent pictures of orange and yellow flowers in an email to my aunt who had cancer. She loved it!

Yes, I love it. I don´t mind what kind of flowers, it´s the thought that counts. I buy things for him as well, when I see s.th. I know he will like. In my opinion, as long as a couple makes the effort to suprise each other with little gifts, the relationship is working.

i'd love to receive flowers from my husband but he's not that type... he shows his thoughtfulness by sending me sms quite often, i mean several times a day just to check how i and the kids are doing and also send sweet messages like I LOVE YOU HONEY. he usually surprise me with chocolates and other food stuffs, because they are my favorite. i am quite happy he does not only remember but also the kids. he takes care of us very well even when he's busy with his job 7 days a week.

Flowers are always a nice thing to get. My husband knows my favorite colors and will get those, but he will more typically buy me a plant or other live one -- I will get cut flowers for the table, but my preference are live ones that I can plant later :o) That way I'll have a living memory and one that will continue to grow (hopefully!) and give me more pleasure later on. I have many plants in my garden and around the house that I have received -- I always think of who gave them to me, especially when they are blooming! :o)

I do not get any flowers. No do I give them to my wife anymore. Once when she was at work on our anniversary I sent flowers to her work. She is a waitress at a restaraunt. She got so embarrased. She embarrases easily though. She whined at me for weeks about making her feel like a fool. I can't see how. I'd have been elated & showing them off to all my customers at work if I was her. So I tried giving her flowers at home for no reason. Sometimes she loves it but most times it's, Yeah okay, Thanks." So now we're both under the understanding no flowers without future warning. LOL. That's my tale of flowers & my wife. HAHAHA. Happy postings from Grandpa Bob

You are one lucky couple to give each other flowers. I would so love it if my hubby did it for me but he won't. He doesn't like giving flowers(don't ask me why!) He gave me a bunch once and he went about explaining how he told the flower lady he doesn't like doing it but he has to etc...sigh, now all that said would I be happy?! So I've just given up the idea of getting flowers from him..poor me!:(

My husband seldom buy me flowers. He's only done it like 3 times in the last 2.5 years. So, it's a BIG surprise when I do receive some from him. I do wish he would get me more flowers though. Most times, I just end up buying them for myself! LOL!!

Love getting flowers, don't happen that often but when it does its wonderful. Getting flowers by surprise is the best, I always ask why and scared the answer might be that I forgot an important day, but he just buys me flowers like your hubby sometimes for no apparent reason, and I love that.

I don't, actually! He will still do it on the odd occassion but for the most part I have trained him out of the habit. I can grow enough flowers on my own, I prefer a living plant, either for indoors or out.

I dont like it that he only brings me flowers on holidays and special occasions. I want him to surprise me one day and have a large bouquet of flowers sent to my office. i love flowers and do love when i get him but I am not a person who buys into the hooplah of valentines day and things like that. one bouquet, one day at work..that is all i ask. maybe someone can email him lol.

I like when my spouse brings me flowers. I like when i am getting flowers just because. I am a simple girl . My husband is very creative when it comes to purchasing me gifts. On Valentines Day he bought me a pink leather Bible. I don't believe i am as creative as him, but i will work on it.

I don't like it! I LOVE it! It shows that he thinks of you. Even if its not roses or any flower for that matter, be it your favorite food, chocolates, or even a simple "I Love You" note...it's the thought that counts. I remember when my husband and I were still on the boyfriend-girlfriend stage, whenever there's a new song I like or favorite artist, he'll download it and make a cd for me. It's so sweet!

Its odd how we change as we age. I did not used to enjoy cut flowers when younger, but now I love them! Yes, I like it when he thinks of me with flowers. As you say, it is especially nice when it is a 'just because' type moment rather than a recognized day.

It is just unfortunate that flowers are often associated with the intensity of love, affection and concern. Personally, I never like flowers because they wilt rather fast. I aspire for love long-lasting and forever. My partner knows that I never like flowers and hence I do not get flowers. However, I ever receive a big bunch of flowers unexpectedly in office. It was from a friend who has just broken off a relationship. Probably she ordered out of love and then with nobody to give to, give it to me - her listener then. The feeling is great.
