I'm going to be a stay at home mom, beginning in less than a month. I am already at home, not working, waiting for the baby, and it's driving me NUTS! What are some things you do to keep occupied during the day? I already spend way too much time online... I need suggestions!

When I have free-time, (which isn't often) I scrapbook, letterbox with my son (check out www.letterboxing.org), garden, crochet and occasionally sew.

Oh honey clean your house. You have a baby coming. There will not be cleaning when you bring that baby home. Once the baby is here you will have plenty to do for quite sometime. You will be looking back on these days wishing for some time. Enjoy that bundle of joy!!

Cleaning isn't enough... I just moved here three months ago, and things stay very clean around here. I sweep daily and keep up with the kitchen, but it's so easy to maintain! And everything is all set up for little guy in our room... changing table is loaded with cloth diapers, his dresser is full of clothes, we have the car seat in the car, etc. I feel like i'm just waiting...

I didn't become a stay at home mom until my son was 6 months old. I missed all the "boring" time. I don't really know what I would have done then. I was only home with him for a couple days each week at that point, so I was busy doing things that I do every day now. Since I didn't become a stay at home until my son was active, I can just tell you that he definitely keeps me busy now. :) He's 13 months old. He does generally take two naps a day. For about two hours each. But he only sleeps 8-10 hours at night. So I really don't usually get a lot done after he goes to bed..unless I want to take a nap with him the next morning. I try to do my cleaning and stuff like that while involving him. That way I can have his nap times to do whatever I want. I try to write a few articles for AC everyday. So that keeps me busy. The motivation to get it done is knowing that is our main source of savings right now until we get the car paid off. If we want to make any trips I have to make the money. My son and I are going home in June for my sister's wedding. That is definitely motivation. If you like to write, I would suggest doing something like that. Another thing I like to do is make a few crafty things. I like to decorate diaper wipes cases and stuff like that. I also make soap and candles that my sister sells. I stay much busier now than I ever did when I was working all the time.

I have been a stay at home mom for the last 3 years. I earn online daily with a few programs. That keeps me busy all day long. I also have tons to do in the home. I do at least 3 loads of laundry daily and I always have dusting to do. I always have supper to cook and things like that to keep me busy also. Summer is coming up and I will also have all of the yard work to keep up with too. I never have a dull moment here with nothing to do. I am always busy doing something. I spend alot of time on the internet daily and I earn money every day and week. I love it and I have just enough programs to earn from to help me and my family out. It is very fun and it is very relaxing, even though it keeps me very busy every day.

I clean lol. When i have spare time i do photo editing and digital scrapbooking. I have a 3 year old though so generally i dont have a whole lot of spare time. I spend some online, i research articals that im writing and write them, fun things i do in summer is garden and keep my boy outside. Take up a crafty hobby like crocheting or knitting. I found after my son was first born i had more free time then i knew what to do with. I started crocheting while watching tv. It really helped fill up the hours and was very easy to do.

Ok, when the baby arrives, the first few months were very unexciting for me, all my daughter did was sleep all day. She'd wake every 4-6 hours for a feed & be asleep again within about 15 minutes! I continued with my pen palling - i have quite a few friends all around the world with kids or expecting kids so it was good to hear stories etc. The letters are a nice surprise & it kept me sane until my daughter started doing more! Oh, but you'll find yourself taking quite a few Nanna Naps during the day - with the constant feeds during the night, you'll just feel sleepy - so just nap :)

Clean, Cook, Clean, Clean some some. I have two children ages 3 and 11 so the 3 year old is home all day with me, while my 11 year old is at school. It seems I always have something to do. Plus I am starting classes soon from the community college soon that will be online so that will fill what little time I will have left. Trust me when the baby comes you will wonder what you did before with all the time you use to have! Good luck and congrats!

When your baby arrives, you will look back at this post and laugh - trust me! I worked all my life until a week before our boy was born so I have been a stay at home mom now for almost a year and I can't even tell you what I do all day because some days I am so busy I can't even remember!! But you know what? It is hands down the BEST job ever. Very hard at times dont' get me wrong. But it is so wonderful. Just enjoy it. I can't believe how fast it goes by!!!

Well congrats on the baby , enjoy them at that beautiful early age , they are just precious. You'll be a full time mom once the baby arrives , you're bored because you're transitioning right now, give yourself some time to adjust to staying home and being a new mom , it takes a lot ,beleive me.Then you can think about may be work from home ,but beware of scams , they're plenty ... I simply joined Avon and became a beauty advisor , it is so much fun , I spend adult time while with customers but can turn to mommy in a split second , my kids go with me everywhere , I have an income and I have fun , visit www.youravon.com/akhalifa ,$10 to start up , no inventory , make 50% of your sales , to sign up , email me at avonbynilerose@aol.com. Good luck

I spend a lot of time thinking of new tasks and activities for my kids to help them learn. I also do things like this site to keep my mind active and to share my opinions with others.

I clean up after my kids!! I stay busy cleaning the house, planning dinners and fun activities for the kids! When my daughter gets home from school we play outside or do crafts. With my two year old I do puzzles with him, TRY to color =)

You mean besides online? LOL Don't worry, you're going to be busy. With a newborn pooping and eating every few hours and trying to catch up on your sleep from those night feedings and changings you'll have enough to keep you occupied. :) When the babe is a bit older you can take a class, join a local group like scrapbookers or a book club, learn a new hobby, or find a simple work from home job.
