Today I tried a an experiment to make a bread. I always make them from scratch, yeasted, kneeding, the works. Well lately my athritus has been bothering me, so I tried something new. It came out great. A little different texture than the usual bread, but so easy and good, you must try it. 2 2/3 cups self rising flour 12 oz. milk 1 tbs. oil 1 lg. egg 1/4 cup grated parmasian chease Preheat oven to 350 Degrees and bake for about 40 minutes. If the toothpick comes out dry, it's ready. Spray a bowl with oil, put in the wet ing. and then add Parmasian & flour. Stir gentle with a large rubber spoon. Then pour it into a bread loaf pan that you sprayed with lots of oil. That's it. Simple, and yummy. The outside crust is like a bisquit. The inside is soft. Place on a rack to cool. If bread doesn't come out after cooled, just take your knife and run it around the pan edge.

Do not beat the egg, oil, and water. Just stir it gentle like. Add the self rise flour with cheese. So easy. Will be a different texture though. Let me know what you think of it. It's like a huge bisquit that you slice.

It is so easy sis. The outside will be like a football. It is hard and crunchy with a soft white inside. Please give it a try.

This sounds nice and easy. I do love homemade bread. I shall have to try this one. We have all the ingredients so I shall make it this weekend. Thanks for sharing. I just love the smell of bread baking. The only trouble is, I want to eat the whole thing while it is warm!

I'll have to give this one a try. It sounds a lot easier on the hands than any of the other bread recipes that I can make from scratch.

Easy is an understatement. But, it will be more like a huge bisquit texture when done.

This sounds really good! I especially like the idea of the pamesan cheese in it. I have copied to the document where I am collecting recipes from mylot. I will try it soon! I gave you a + for your discussion as I do for all discussions that I respond to.

Wow Margieanne, this sounds great. I have a sack of self-rising flour left over from the holidays. Do you think it would be okay to leave out the cheese? I am not sure that hubby would like it with the cheese. But, I guess it wouldn't hurt to give it a try first. It will not go to waste here.

I just bought some selfrising flour for a special recipe, but I do not remember what, now. I think I have all that you mention, and that would be yummy. Have you ever made the dilly cheese batter bread? It has cottage cheese, and herbs in it and is so good.

This sounds very much like the aussie damper with a parmesan twist! We mix dough and then wrap in alfoil and put in hot coals over a bonfire or BBQ traditionally. But you can cook in the oven as you have. I hope you enjoyed it.

Well I think I will give it a try. No, not pass it off to my daughter but give it a try myself. I said I was never going to bake bread again in my life after what happened last time. I am going to stray alittle. My husband and son went fishing. I decided to bake bread. They came home to the most amazing smell of baked bread. My son, who was maybe 7 at the time, goes no way Mom made this. I said yes I did. He grabed a loaf flipped it upside down and seen it was alittle burned. The little darling then goes now I believe you Mom.

Okay, that a girl. You can do it. This is so easy. It is like a big hard bisquit, that you slice and it is soft inside. It won't be like regular bread, but it tastes good and no effort into doing it. Let me know how it comes out. Be sure to spray the bread pan well with oil.
