Do we get paid for responding to 3 or 4 month old discussion?

This question come into my mind because of what earning I have got for yesterday's post. Before I thought taht we get paid for posting a response to a discussions regardless how much old the discussion is. Yesterday I was responding to some old disusssion which was started before 3 or 4 months. As my notification is not working now, I was responding to discussions which came infront of me and catch my interests. I can't believe that I have earned only 4 cents for 12 responses. If you are my friend or you just have seen my response, you know that I don't post meaningless or one liner responses. Usually I get paid 2 cent per post. So, now I am confused taht is that happend because of responding to old discussion?? I am curious. Do you have such experience? What is your opinion about this?

That does seem a bit low-- I thought you got paid for every response regardless of when it was started- but I'm not certain. I often times respond to older discussions also-- I search by interest- and if catches my eye- I'll respond. I'm going to watch this and see how others respond.

I never noticed how much i am being paid. More over i am new here. I do respond to discussions which do catch my eye and i feel like discussing a word on that. I do go through all kinds of discussions irrespective of when they were started. Yesterday i do remember vaguely i responded to 3 r 4 dicussions which were started some 3 or 4 months back. Still i am not sure how much i am being paid for each responce.

Just see how much you have been paid for your earning how much you have earned in discussion catagory. You will be having an idea.

Thank you for asking this question, as the same thing is happening to me. I hope somebody will let us know, as I am finding answering the old posts isn't earning very much for me. This might be the questions I selected to answer, but I felt my answers were quality replies. I answered several that didn't have a reply and one was from a newer member. Is mylot now paying us based on how new a member is here? Are they paying more when you answer a member with a high star rating? This appears to be the case based on how much I earned for several posts.

We can't say anything directly about newer member fact. Mylot is so unpredictable regarding earnings.

I dont think older posts will not be treated as no pay kind.. There must be some other reason. Yesterday i faced some similar problem but not with discussions but with images. I usually load some 10 images a day and i get someting around 10 cents a day for images but yestderday i only got 1 cent for uploading 10 images. anyone any idea about this too?

Ohhh one cent for uploading ten images is very weired. Uploading imagaes is time consuming and one cent for 10 photo is not worth at all.

That's weird. I respond to older posts and I see signs of that when I check my current balance. I like posting to older discussions, because sometimes they have been overlooked and they have a lot to say.

If this is so that we get paid less for old discussions that it is really weird.

As far as I know it doesn't matter how old the discussion is. The way they calculate payments doesn't seem to be determined by a simple formula. That does seem rather low, but I haven't really calculated out what my payments would be per post.

Yes, I thought that too taht we get paid for old discussions as well. But after the happening of yesterday's earning I am just curious.

All I can say is test it some how. Like one day only do old discussions and see how much you make and the next do new ones and compare. That is very low. I did however notice that for some odd reason my payout has dropped the last few days so I don't know if mylot may have had to change their pay out rates due to more users joining and more pay going out with people realizing this place really pays. I think we all will have to do some testing and keep track and see where this is going.

Does seem strange and besides if you don't get paid for 3/4 month old discussions why still have them 'live' so to speak. I think it would be unfair if this was the case and to be honest unless someone proves me wrong Mylot wouldn't let this happen. The only thing you can do is to respond to 12 brand new discussions and then see what you get in return and compare if that's possible?

I thought we got paid for old discussions too. Now you got me wondering. Im always responding to old discussions. Maybe you should ask mylot because I responded to some yesterday and I got paid for them. Keep us informed.

Who know what they do, they surely won't tell you. My advice we just keep posting.

Uh oh that doesn't sound good at all sweet, I never really thought of that! It's funny how these earnings keep changing time and again to add to the confusion. I personally haven't kept track and many a time have responded to discussions that are started more than 4 months ago and I think I've been paid the same. Now that you cited your experience I'm wondering now..

That's strange, I think it wouldn't be fair if true.. I'm still not receiving notifications either and sometimes old discussions comes at the top for me, even before I respond to some old discussions when i come across them if they are interesting, I didn't notice this before. What I noticed though is if you respond to discussions a few hours before the earnings update time , they are not counted and they roll up to the next day's earnings, so you better wait for tomorrow and see if your will be credited for the rest of the discussions you responded to.

we do get paid for responding to 3 or 4 month old discussion because every response here we do get paid regardless of how long the discussion was..keep going..
24 Mar 07
I'm new here (a week) and I think that would be a little unfair of mylot. If we do not get paid then these discussions should be closed. Either that or it should clearly state this somewhere. But once again we have a clear case of mylot not quite telling us everything!

I am a newbie and cannot figure out how the pay scale works . Now body seems to know how it works. I wish that there were some place that I (as well as anybody else) could go to find out how the pay scale works. Is there any one out there that know how the pay scale works.

I am not 100% sure about this but I think we are only paid 00.1cent per post now and I hope we are getting paid for old posts as I do a lot of them too , for pictures we seem to only be getting 00.i1 cent in total no matter how many pictures we download , I haven't ever been able to calculate , I have no idea how much we get for best responses either maybe someone could help with this xx

I've never been able to figure out how we get paid. But I don't think it matters if it is a new or an old discussion...a discussion is a discussion! LOL

I don't see why not? I would actually be suprised if the answer was no. When I had a bunch of old unresolved discussions, my friends had them all answered in seconds. We must get paid for them! I hope someone that knows answers this post so that I can find out what the scoop is.

I find the pay seems to very so much on here. I do not think it matters how old the discussion is. I post on old ones all the time I have never noticed a lot of difference. I would not let this stop you from continuing to do this. I will keep going to old ones, I find that there are a lot that are interesting and I want to [post on them.

I will only say a big thank you for that piece of advice. I am new in this business. In fact I was worried that my earning is just 0.25$ in 4weeks!

Thanks for bringing this to our notice.Iwill also try to verify that whether it is true.Though if a discusion is open they must credit the responses or they should bar further responses to the discussions which will not be paid. But there is one thing how will we know that they have not paid for a particular response as they never specify that how much do they have paid for an individual response.
