Vegetarians - What's for dinner? or breakfast, or lunch....

prismrainbow @prismrainbow (107) • United States 7 Jan 07

Being a fairly new vegetarian, I often get stumped on what to fix for meals, especially if I haven't planned it well in advance. I thought we could share meal ideas - not necessarily recipes (unless you want to elaborate on...

Homeschoolers - How do you usually respond to the "socialization" comments?

prismrainbow @prismrainbow (107) • United States 5 Jan 07

I'm referring more to offline interactions with people but online in various groups as well. I don't mean the comments from other homeschoolers interested in what types of social activities our kids participate in. I'm talking...

wahmbrendamh You know, maybe I'm lucky or something, but I can't honestly remeber the last time that I was asked this question. I think that as homeschooling grows in popularity we'll be answering this question less and less. Brenda Marie Homeschool 4 Us (My...

How old a child should be to be left alone at home?

doingit4fun @doingit4fun (917) • United States 12 Jan 07

I think 11 years old is mature enough to be left alone (12 years is legal in USA) without a baby sitter. A 13 year old can be left alone with younger sibling? What do you think.

Do you read the instructions before starting assembling anything?

doingit4fun @doingit4fun (917) • United States 12 Jan 07

I don't read manuals before starting the assembling process. I refer to them when I have trouble. Do you read the manual cover to cover before starting?

Putting babies to sleep - do you just let them cry it out?

AngEngland @AngEngland (320) • United States 9 Jan 07

I wonder what kind of bed time routine you have for your children? Some parents never put their kids down and don't let them cry at all. Other's I've seen let their kids cry for 30 minutes or more to go to bed. I'm definately...

Do you buy a book by it's cover? Or you actually look inside?

doingit4fun @doingit4fun (917) • United States 6 Jan 07

I usually buy a book by reading the cover and sometimes I am disappointed because the cover looked good and had a strong selling message. How do you buy books?
