ShannyBananny @RasmaSandra I had not either but my husband did. I read up on it afterwards how water will be trapped in rocks and explode under high heat.

ShannyBananny @celticeagle from what I read the rocks can hold water and then when they get really hot they can explode. I think it was bluestone which was the most common rock around here for building things but I’m not positive.

ShannyBananny @Fleura there were originally about 12 sprouts growing in the flower pot. Little E kept pulling them out to look at them so we only wound up with one flower growing. It looks funny since it’s on the very left side of the planter.

ShannyBananny @LadyDuck from what I read rocks get moisture inside them and when the fire is very hot they can explode. This fire was much hotter then any I have ever made due to it being wood and not just paper and cardboard etc.

ShannyBananny @wrexxo it was scary. If it only happened once I would have been less nervous but it was random the rocks would explode and fly out so I was scared to go closer and put more cardboard in.

ShannyBananny @Ineeddentures what was the point of doing that though? He is fine and his home is fine. I don’t know him well. I’ve only met him by asking if he has seen my dog once and getting his dog out of the road once.
