tntvdm I think the ideal age to breastfeed until is at least one year. Beyond that is a bonus. The AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommends breastfeeding until the age of two! I personally could not picture myself breastfeeding my two year old...she seems...

breastfeeding vs. bottlefeeding

jllatham @jllatham (48) • United States 24 Jan 07

I breastfeed my son, but everyone I meet (except a select few) is bottlefeeding or has bottlefed their babies and they usually try to make me feel bad or different for breastfeeding. I just thought breastfeeding was the most...

tntvdm They have no place to make you feel bad. Breastfeeding is the BEST and most natural thing you can do for your child. You are giving him the healthiest foundation to start his life on! You know exactly what you're feeding him, who made it, and where it came...

tntvdm How old is your child? Good for you! I've heard that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that you breastfeed until the age of two, so perhaps that's why not many continue on past then. My youngest is almost a year, and I plan on nursing him for a...

1st baby -- how old were you?

monica1216 @monica1216 (509) • United States 16 Jan 07

How old were you when your 1st child was born. Did you feel ready emotionally and financially at that age? I was only 22 but I do think that it was okay when we had our 1st because I was ready emotionally. My mom had had a baby...

tntvdm I don't know if anyone is every fully ready financially, but I do feel I was emotionally ready. I was 25 years old (and 2 days, LOL) when I had my first. I think a lot of the emotional readiness comes with having a reliable husband or support system.

tntvdm You could try wetting and freezing a baby washcloth and then let the baby chew on it! My son loves that. My kids didn't get teeth until 10 & 11 months, though.
