I think the ending was good. That tragic ending made the movie more popular. A single man ageinst Roman Empire, bit difficult to succeed .

The story was based on a real battle, The battle of thermopyle. King leonidas is considered as the descendant of hercules. The battle took place inb thermopyle. Leonidas's army succedde over the initial waves, but then he was killed and his head were cutoff. But finally the spartans succeded.

According to me, age of inventions are not over. Till the middle of 19th century inventions are for the normal people, but now trhey are above the basic needs, some are actually not required to man. Now most of the inventions will lead to the destruction of the world.
