I can't be positive, but I think you have a baby Starling there. We often would get these trapped in out basement because of an opening at the side of our house (my husband has since blocked off)where the mother would build a nest, and then the mother and babies, for some reason, would slide down the back of our bathtub into the basement and get trapped. I have a 10 yr. old son who is very emotional like this. He has always been terrified of thunderstorms too. I have found, as difficult as it is, that it is best to let these emotions work themselves out. They always do.
