i've known a few people who do this-where most people would say "ow" or at least whistle through their teeth, they laugh.gives me the creeps-just strikes me as a strange thing to do.

It depends on the situation. If the way I ended up hurting myself, especially when with friends or co-workers, was one of those situations that belongs in one of those slapstick comedies, then it cannot be helped. There have also been times I have hurt myself from laughing too hard & too long.

I'm now thinking about the last time I laughed so hard that I was hurting was when a male & female co-worker car-pooled & was trying to join in with them to go someplace after work. I flat-out said, "What more do you want? You two already got each other." People got worried that I was dying I was laughing so hard when I realized what I said.

Lol, sometimes I do, yeah. Mostly it's if I did something particularly stupid and shoulda known better (resulting in my getting hurt), or else it was because I was attempting something silly...and know I looked even funnier doing it. So I laugh. Even though I injured myself. Otherwise..I don't say ow. I don't say anything, really heh. I mean..what's the need? It hurts...why reitarate it?

I don't really laugh when I hurt myself especially if I'm on my own. I'll sound crazy (^^,LOL) But I do laugh, when my siblings are around. Because if I get angry because they are laughing at my clumsiness. They'll make more fun of me and will start to call me names. Which I don't like. This is for my clumsy behavior only. But when I get really hurt. They know I'm not joking. So they don't laugh and being badly hurt I don't laugh too. (^^,)

siblings are good for that. my brother used to tease me when injured when i was younger-for the same reasons.

For me it depends on how I hurt myself. I am very clumsy, so sometimes I will run into objects that are pretty much right in front of me. I will usually laugh those off, because it's my clumsiness that caused the pain. (I'm not even kidding. I once walked directly into a couch that I knew was in front of me.)

I do this somethimes when I find it funny how I hurt my self. eg we went on holiday 2 weeks ago and went by the river my sister was recordig 2 ducks in the water and I went over to feed them and fell on my bum it was killing me but I laughed because it was funny and because it was on tape. Also when I am very angry sometimes I laugh which gives the wrong impretion

My daughter did that when she got her flu shot. They popped her up on the table and gave her the shot in her arm and she giggled. My husband and I just looked at each other and started laughing too. It was so odd, she is usually a fragile little girly-girl.

i guess it would be unhelathy to laugh out when you are hurt because all you feelings just accumulates inside you and that, i believe would make someone crazy. i guess a good way to unload all those feelings is throguh crying and crying.

depending on the type of pain,i'd say so. if it's emotional, you could get an ulcer if you don't let it out.

I sometimes react like that hun, I guess it depends on how you hurt yourself. I slipped and fell in our local goth club, landed on my bum and yes it did hurt a bit, but I just couldn's help but laugh when I realised how daft i must have looked.

i have to say, i am guilty of this. Of course, i also say "ow" or "that hurt" or something, but i usually laugh as well. i recently had surgery. i have one cut on my chest and 2 in my tummy, deep into the muscle. Well, when i laugh, it hurts...which only gets me laughing harder. It's funny! LOL. i know, i know. i am weird.

WEll i have experienced this and would never have believed it to be true if i hadnt. I run my baby toe in the door casing at my house not to long ago and that is just what i did i laughed and why did i laugh. Because it hurt to much to try is that out there or what. First time someone said that to me i thought they were complete nut cases.

Yikes, no, that is even worse than me laughing when others fall down. I feel slighly less metally twisted, now. I just chant all sorts of awful words under my breath, but I think that is fairly standard. My kids do something a little strange. If they are barely hurt they make a big production of how 'bad' it is. I know they are really in pain when they hop right up and say they are fine. It's always a doozey when that happens.

i was kind of like that when i was little:) i'll still say i'm "fine" sometimes.

Usually when I get hurt, or drop something from my hand, I go crazy. That's so irritating for me. I get angry at myself. But if I am in public and get hurt I don't react much. I want to show like normal.

I don't like some one showing pity for me. When i get hurt i will just give a smile and wont allow anyone to show that pity towards me. Thats the only way i have got to restrict others from laughing or showing pity when i am hurt.

Well most of the time if I hurt myself I rant out words that I just couldn't list here...LOL but i hate to say it...sometimes I will laugh to myself..if anything for my own clumsiness...I have a lot of foot problems and keep stubbing my toe...clutz...so yes, I do laugh at myself...not often though..like I said I usually use a few choice words instead

I prefer to laugh instead of cry. I hate to cry, at least I hate people to see me cry. Probably some kind of hangup from childhood, but crying is a last resort. I was hiking down a hill with my other half one day and I started to get going faster and faster, next thing you know I am sliding down the hill over rocks on my rear end. I was sitting at the bottom laughing like a hyena by the time he noticed. He didn't realize I was hurt he just thought something was funny and I wasn't letting him in on it. So I guess laughter maybe isn't the way to go if you want someone to help you or at least dish out a little sympathy!

exactly-this exactly the way they act. you ask them if they want help, and they keep laughing.
