I must have stuffed up the photo on my discussion. Hope it comes out this time. Here is the discussion that went with it:"I just had to show my lot friends, this stunning photo my husband took of the Queen Mary. The Queen Mary is an old fashioned paddle boat, although a very large boat. It was originslly built in the old days for transport up & down the Murray River. It has been restored now, & takes tourists for houseboat holidays. This photo was taken in the early morning, when it was all misty.

In Minneapolis & St Paul Minnseota USA we have a few older paddle boats that cruise up & down the Mississippi River. tHEY'RE RUN BY jOHNATHAN pADDLEFORD cOMPANY i THINK. They have daily cruises then night cruises. The nighttime cruises are a dinner & dance cruise. An elegant meal served then dancinf to live music. Usually a big band era music. Ive been on it a couple times. A lot of fun. I rated the pic also after a sore neck from turning sideways to view it. HAHAHAHA. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I can imagine the Mississipi River would be highly suitable for paddle boats. I would love one of those romantic dinners on a boat, at night, sailing along the river. They have them on the Port River, where boats take passengers to see the Dolphins.

What a beautiful picture! I would love to be on this boat, it's so cool. It must be pretty old. Those old boats had so much class. I'd love to see the inside of it.

About 7 years ago my son to Korea being in the army. We took him to his departure point and along the way we stopped at St Louis. He Took the grandkids up in the arches. after that we crossed the river and had lunch on one of those paddle boats. It a very nice experience. Those old paddle boats are full of romance. from the past. They were very dangerious too. The crews would get to racing the river and get the steam engines so hot that they would explode and kill some of the passengers. A lot of lives were lost on them.

Johnathon Paddleford Paddlewheel Company - One of 4 boats owned by this company I believe.
Thanks for this link also. I was downtown Minneaplois Saturday afternoon walking along the Mississippi River. So I drove to the loading dock for the Johnathon Paddlefords Paddlewheel tour boats. Here's a picture of one of the 4 boats sitting at the dock. I've been on both the daytime cruise and the dinner dance cruise. A great way to see the Mighty Mississippi River here in Minneapolis Minnesota USA HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It's a very attractive large paddle boat. I would LOVE to go on a Dinner dance cruise (although my husband doesn't dance). My husband is now talking about hiring one of the small paddle houseboats for a mid year holiday. Thanks very much for this Bob. Hope your Father is improving.

It would be great if they did dinner and dancing on the boat because of the history and romance that is within the picture. It is very nice-have you been to it?
