I recently took on the voluntary job of Treasurer at my local Weight Watchers group. This came about as the previous Treasurer had work changes, & then wantd to go on holidays. As the AGM wasn't until late March, I was not taking over as Treasurer until then. Normally, our previous Treasurer had everything up to date, however, for most of February & March, nothing was done. I have never been a treasurer before, & knew little about it, but took it over as I was the only computer literate person, out of 35. This is what I hava had to face, & why I can't do much My Lot for a few days. Auditing is supposed to be done in February, but it hasn't been done.Six months rent for the hall we hire was due in January. This hadn't been done. $28.00 is missing out of petty cash. The Petty Cash records (on excel) have not been done for one year. The money in, & money out, monthly records have not been done for February & March. Previous records were kept on floppy. One is missing, the other is so old fashioned that it is not compatible with my computer. The record secretary has run out of forms (kept either on the missing floppy or the unworkable floppy). The first job I did was pay the rent. Since then, I have been compiling a yearly record of Petty cash on excel, as I have booked the Auditor for tomorrow morning. I am up to September. Then, preferably before our Thursday WW meeting, I have to compile two lists on excel for attendance & competitions. I have to start from scratch, for the same floppy disc reason. Then I have to compile, from the beginning, records of monies in, & monies out for February, March, & now April. The list goes on. Hence, I can not be doing much of My Lot for a few days. So sorry for the lack of responses in the next few days.

That doesn't sound like a job, it sounds like an elephant! I am sure you will get it all straightened out, but I know it seems like a long time between here and there. I guess you will add one more area of experience by doing this. LOL Good luck, I would not want to be doing this.

I hated being asked to be treasurer of anything group I belonged to. I would quickly tell them no. Handling money makes me ill! I don't envy you having the task of cleaning up another persons mess. Not a fun job. Huggers to you.

Tis quite alright, I am glad you have a job. Sounds very interesting and one that I would like to find one day. Office work is my strong suit and you will find once you are immersed and become experienced it will be a nice flow to your day and therefore life. Keep us posted and we will live vicariously through you a bit. Take care!!

I wish you Luck in this endeavor. It sounds like it's going to be a hard job to recover after someone else's mess. You seem to be right on target for what needs to be done, hopefully it won't be too difficult. I understand why you won't be around for a while, we won't forget you, you'll be in my thoughts.

Sounds like a mess. I guess you'll be quite busy. I sure could not do something like that. Trying to figure out money gives me a headache.
