I have tons of cousins, over 30 I believe and I know them all. At one point or another in our lives we lived either together or close to each other. I miss them all. So, our family is scattered throughout this planet--USA (WA, CA, AZ, OR), Thailand, Australia, Indonesia, and The Netherlands. The younger generations uses email but we can't seem to get the elders to do the same. They still use the phone and snail mail (and let me tell you mail travelling around the world is slower than snails). How do you guys stay in touch?

My sisters, relatives and friends living in the states. Just like yours, everyone's scattered around the globe. Well, internet's really a big help to us. We always chat on yahoo messenger. Friendster also where i mostly keep in touched with my cousins and friends. By cellphones too, calling and texting. (",)

I've never even thought of chat rooms. That's a great idea. Thanks for the reminder.

it feels good to be chatting with far away relatives and friends through the internet facilities. these breakthroughs in telecommunications are really doing us all a lot of good things. anyone among us can just talk with anyone and see how they are right there and then. i understand that they are trying to do the same innovations with the cellphones already where the persons communicating can opt to see each one while carrying a conversation.

We stay connected by emails, telephone, by blogging and myspace. Myspace seems to be a big one with my family, even found family I hadn't heard from in years over there. This past week a cousin called me and asked if I had myspace, we talked for an hour through email there and I got to see what his kids looked like. Gotta love the internet.

Oh, I agree, Elizajane. Gotta love the internet. I've just started a MySpace page too. I'm still working my way around over there. In any case, email and blogging sure has made our world a little smaller.

All of my family live in Australia, although our States are far apart. Like you, many of us keep in touch via email, with photos, etc. But phone calls are made sometimes, especially with my parents & other oldies. We send cards too, but never write letters. This Saturday night it is my cousins 60th birthday. We have family coming from two other styates, some i havn't seen for a long time. It will be great.

this is no longer a cause for anyone's worry. the internet is just right at our fingertips. for those who do not use it, the telephone is just around. then there is the regular snail mail and the couriers and messengerial services. these day, when telecommunications is so advanced, the communication problem has been practically eliminated. as for the older folks, the young ones around them can always get them to use the gadgets. have someone else operate it for them and then off they go talking. that is how it is at home. my children operates this internet surfing and usage for me. i just simply get to sit down and proceed with what it is that i endeavor to do.

That is so true. I'm glad your kids can help out. I think I'm pretty savvy on the computer but my children help me a lot. It's all good.
