Why is it like that?

Stange it might seem. I've found an interesting phenomina here that some discussions which do seem worth much answer have recieved numerous responses while some real issues have got responses next to none. You may say people's interests are different, but if you have a look at the sample here, you might come to agree with me. eg. I got up at 8:00 in the morning, what about you? (just example, personally I don't think issues like this worth discussing or giving responses, but it might get tons of answering)

maybe because those questions are much easier to answer than the real issues. maybe some people also face the same struggles and are not yet ready to answer those questions ...maybe some are scared to make their stand so they avoid serious questions...i wonder about that too...more people answer the useless stuff and less people respond to important discussions

I agree, it is so much easier to just answer a quick question, and not really say anything. Your daily routine is safe. What you ate for dinner. Your favorite color. your favorite fruit. I have seen all as topics here. I started posting some things that I felt needed more thought, but a lot of people are here to make money not to think, or that is my opinion. There are enough that do answer, so that if there is even one answer to my post I am happy.

You are correct but I, personally, don't answer those types of discussions myself. I don't waste time on things that are to simplistic. Other things that I look for are: 1-Post must have more than 3 lines of text. Why? Simple, b/c I answer completely and I'm not wasting time typing out ten lines of text if the original poster only typed out 2 lines! 2-Post must have more than one angle, side or position. I don't respond to one sided posts, as if we live in a black or white world. Life is complex and while I understand everyone has his/her position about something, the simple fact is issues are not always as simple and clear cut as simple people would like for them to be.... 3-The post must answer the question it is asking! Why bother to ask a question if you, the poster, is not going to share your view? Or why bother to respond to a post, when the original poster has stated his/her position? 4-Again, nothing to simplistic for me. I can discuss those things with my friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. I don't have to come here and waste valuable time on mylot typing out a response. At the end of the day, we all have preferences of what we will post or respond too. Only difference is, some ppl look for anything to respond too or post about; while others prefer more serious, thought provoking, more specific topics to respond or post about..... That's the good part about mylot, we can pass up topics/posts we don't care for....and for me there are days when there is hardly anything to respond too! Good posts and observation! A+

I have noticed this also. I have seen some of the discussions that really do not make any sense and there is nothing really to discuss on them, get a ton of responses to them. I have no clue why. I cannot even think of something to respond to them with. I have seen alot of good discussions though that only get a couple of responses from other members. I guess alot of people just want to answer easy discussions and they do not care to read the ones that have alot of meaning.

trash - collects trash
Well for me it's because it's easier to respond. It doesn't take a brain clinging answers while other topics needs a deeper knowledge and a profound ideas, you really have to exert effort in giving opinions.
