Do You Have One Room In Your House Used For Clutter?

I have one room in my house that I do not use for anything but what I don't use everyday. I call it my clutter room. I put all kinds of things in there. My Christmas items, My Easter stuff, it is also used to store my cleaning supplies. You name it and it will end up there at one time or another. My mom is the same way. The nice thing about having a room like this is you can close the door and it is out of sight. What about you? Do you have a clutter room in your house? My mom calls it her pack rat room. I know some have a attic or garage. I don't have those two options. So this is my way of taking care of the things I would normally put in those two other places.

We have a room that attracts stuff temporarily. It was my son's room and his bed is still in there but is a nice place to store extra blankets and pillows because our linen closet is not that big and our apartment does not have many storage places.

Well we have lived in a bigger place before we moved into our current apartment. It is hard to go from a house to an apartment.

It is nice to have a extra place to put things. I have lived in a house that had absolutely no extra area at all to store things. That was hard.

Yep I sure do - today it's my whole house LOL, finally getting around to some spring cleaning. Normally it's the spare bedroom - this is an old house and the '3rd bedroom' is actually a walk-through. As my son has the other room upstairs he has to walk through the spare to get to his - there's currently just enough for a walkway. Hopefully this will change within the next week or two - when I get to that room I know I need to get rid of a bunch of stuff.

I find the hardest thing for me to do is get rid of stuff. My husband laughs at me because when I finish my spring cleaning he wants to know what I got rid of. He knows me only to well.

Oh your husband sounds like my Mom - I save everything and she's always trying to get me to 'let go of things'.

I would hate to see us move. I would have to make a lot of decisions what things to throw away and what to keep. Hopefully we won't be moving for awhile.

When we built our house we had 2 little extra rooms put in with shelving, they are supposed to be a walk in pantry and walk in linen. But my kitchen is enormous we didnt need these rooms. So all the junk gets put into these two rooms, its great with the shelving and you can close the door behind it and forget about.

Haha! We used to sleep in one room, "we" meaning my parents, my brother and I. When I came back home from the US, I got used to sleeping in my own room, that is why all the things that we are not using, like the luggages, boxes, extra mattresses went to my brother's room that he's not sleeping in. His room somewhat became the storage room. The house is really becoming smaller as we are getting older. When we were younger the space seemed just right, but now it feels kinda crowded.

Right now, we have a very large closet that is where we store all of the "junk" that we can't get rid of. We're about to move across the country, though, and I'm hoping that we will find a place that is large enough to store all of our stuff, without having a "junk" closet. I think if it looks like we will have a "junk" closet or room, I would rather just get a storage unit and keep it there!

My husband tells me I am just like my mom. She can't stand to throw things away and neither can I. That is why I had to find a place to store all my junk items. My husband just shakes his head at me. I know how hard it is to make moves. Over the years my husband and I had to make a lot of moves due to him being in the service. You don't know how much you have until you start packing to move. On one inparticular move we got done packing everything up and my husband looked at me and said that we didn't have this much when we moved in here. Good Luck on your move. Where will you be moving to?

I think it is funny that this question was showing at the top of the list this morning. I have an extra bedroom on the main level of my house that has been my clutter room --but I cleaned it last night! My basement is still full of all the stuff that I don't know what to do with, so I still have a place for my clutter.

We have one room that began as a library...wall to wall bookshelves. Then, we started putting things in there that we needed to find a place for later, or extra stuff, or things that were going into storage, or things that needed to go to the good will..etc. etc. etc...it is now the "catch-all room".

I think most of my rooms have clutter in them, I do try and tidy them up every so often, I have an attic and two outside cupboards that have more clutter in them! For some reason my bedroom seems to be the dumping ground until I get time to put stuff away!

They actually use my room to store the clutter! lol. Half of my closet is filled with extra curtains, bed sheets, pillowcases, extra towels and stuff. Even old clothes, and ones that have just been laundered. I don't know why. My room is also the guest room (as long as the guest is female, which they usually are). I hate it. I lack privacy. And they store the bathroom cleaners here so when they need to clean the bathrooms they have to get in here. It's pretty irritating, really. But of course most of the old stuff are either in the basement or thrown somewhere else...

Yes we have! But we put everything in boxes so it doesn't look so messy in there. My baby's old clothes and stuff are in there, there's a big box of cds, gifts that I received on my wedding that we don't use, a box of magazines which I don't know why we won't throw them, some old clothes, etc. It's actually getting crowded in there, some of it is because we're still undecided if wanna keep them or throw them.

Oh my , lately it seems that my all house is used for clutter. No, really, I don't really have the space to have a room just for clutter, I wish I did. I usually have a special place in each room where we can put things and keep them hidden and then during the weekend we go trough everything and put everything where it belongs or throw it out if it's the case. I don't have a garage and my attic is actually a room. My storage space is very small as it is so one big container on each room is as much as I can get. I have a big wicker basket in my living room, a fancy straw bag in my room, a box that can be used for sitting but has storage inside in my daughter's room etc. Each night we just go over everything we find that shouldn't be there and put it in the boxes and on the weekend we go trough everything.

Unfortunely, my whole apartment is cluttered. I have a business and it seems to have taken up my dining room, kitchen, spare bedroom, closet, and behind the closets. LOL Wherever a box can fix for my business, that is where it's at. Even my own bedroom has clutter from it. WE keep our christmas decorations in the cluttered closet as well. We really need a house and I need a work room

yes, we have a room in the house which serves its purpose as a "clutter room". it really is full of clutter and dust. our family has the "pack rat" tendency so maybe that'swhy we find that extra room so useful.

My garage seems to collect all our clutter. It is so full we can't even park a car in it. My goal this summer is to have 2 yard sales, one in the next couple of weeks, then 1 in the fall and hopefully get it cleaned out some.
