Beauty According to Race

Do you think it's racist to feel attracted to one race of people above others? Or, is this just a personal preference, such as liking blonde hair or brown eyes more than the other colors? Would you say it is natural to feel more attracted to people within your own race, or does it make no difference for you? For me, I am most attracted to white and asian features, but not so much to other races. Sometimes I worry that this makes me a bad person... But it's not as if I think any less of people different than me! Do you think it is wrong to have this kind of preference? I worry about this subject a lot at times.

well, i used to be that was as well, but its only 1 part of finding the perfect person. i wanted so much to marry a while guy...the blond hair and blue eyes...thats what i wanted and i concluded that the reason i wanted that because it was something rare where i was. i grew up with a lot of asians...japanese, chinese, koreans...so forth...its not wrong to have those kind of prefrences...i mean most people do...but you should soly judge a person or someone you should date on those...of all the years trying to hold out for a white guy....the person who captured my heart wasn't even near white...he was a full asian...100% japanese...but i still loved him. he had the same prefrences too...i'm filipino and he grew up with nothing but filipino girls around him and never was attracted to them. most of his girlfriends where white/caucasion....but likewise...he fell for me...so race didn't even matter for us at that point because we fell in love.

I don't think so. in all honesty, I'm not really attracted to black men, but then I'm not attracted to men with ginger hair, bodybuilders, men with beards, men who are overweight or any number of other physical aspects. this doesn't mean I view them as lesser people. they're just not "my type" but then "my type" tends towards androgynous men with blue or green eyes, and my boyfriend is part Indian and very muscular (pretty though) I don't think it's racist. it's about aesthetics. certain people like certain appearences.

Ooh, we have the same 'type' of guy it seems, I love androgynous guys! Most of the other things you listed are traits I dislike/like as well. I do enjoy ginger hair though, I think it's quite cute.

There is no such thing as racism. It is an invention of the white man so that other races could safely integrate into the white community. Only the white man is called racist. No other race is called racist... despite some of them being a lot more racist than us. Why don't we call religions "racist"? Catholics are supposed to marry catholics. Jews are supposed to marry Jews. And the same goes with every religion. Is it not racism at work in the Middle East when the Sunnis and the Shiates try to exterminate each other? The use of the word "racist" in the west has gone way beyond what it was designed for and I am not paying attention to it anymore. Discrimination does exist... but racism does not. And no... the two are not the same. Racism is a law to force the white people to accept something they don't like against their will. It takes the freedom away from white people to choose who they like and don't like. It is not the people who are racist. It is the law which is racist against the white people.

Nah, its not racist at all. Im spanish, and Im only attracted to white guys. There are exceptions obviously, but not many. Its not like I dont like other people of other races, its just that im not attracted to them. Im not even attracted to my own race! Its something that ive always found strange, but its not like its something that I can control. Its not like its a concious decision of mine to "only find white ppl attractive", it just happened that way.

It is not missed to have preference, that actually is cultural, in general we liked people of our own culture, because we have something in common, but it is calm, it is not racism that, even because feeling can hole our tastes, and we liked a person that your physicist is not in our list of favorite XD.

I don't think it's a racist thing to do that. It's just a matter of personal choices.

No, I don't think it's racist to feel attracted to one race of people. It's just a personal preference or "taste". I don't think it's more natural to feel more attracted to people within your own race because I sure ain't, and neither are my siblings. I'm attracted to white woman with brown hair, Italians, and some Spanish. I don't discriminate, but these are just particularly who I'm into. I wouldn't worry.

i never understood why being atracred only to your own race is deemed racist. I think beauty is culturally determined, therefore it is understandable to be attracted to people of ones own race blessed be

I would deffinatly disagree that is was rasist. It all just about personal preference .. its like saying.. i prefre blondes to brunettes, blue eyes to green or i like thin girls to fat. one of my freinds had a black male flirt with her and when she said she wasnt interested he called her rasist for not fancying him because she was white. I was completely appalled by that and hoped he really did not think that way. I personally love half cast girls and asian girls but i dont like that in boys. on the other hand i like caucasion boys but not that in girls. And i am not perticularly interested in the african race attractivly.. but i am not rasist because i would happy talk to any race of person without even considering there ancerstrial background.

I wouldnt say that is racist. It is just a personal preference. You are not a bad person. It is something like your preference towards different type of foods.

I really think it is a matter of personal preference. I tend to like black men and lot of people have a problem with that. They think I have reasons other than it just being my personal preference. I do think this it is the same as a man liking blondes. I would elaborate but me power is going off soon :)

Do you think it's kind of racist to always see the race issue in absolutely everything? Do you think not marrying a horse may be considered racist?

I don't see the race issue in everything, it's just that I have grown up in a small town where there are no people of other races (only white) and I have no experience dealing with any race issues. I have no frame of reference, so it makes me curious about such things. Thanks for your opinion though ^^;
