I can't believe that so many people are that ignorant that they can't figure out that 2 + 2 equals 4. But this isn't about mathematics or scholling. Well maybe schooling on the operation of doing "work" here on mylot. We get paid for what we do here so it is a job in my eyes. I take pride in ANY job I have and myLot is no exception. I was looking around checking out new discussions posted. One was about unresolved discussions asking for help. I responded saying I'd check their page out and help out if possible. This person isn't very new nor too old. 204 with an 8 Star. After searching their site of about 20 discussions I tired because I noticed almost all these had been resolved. And almost all were awarded BR to the first responder the same day the discussion was started. I responded back offering a little help hoping it may change this members way of her work here on myLot. Why can't people understand the whole concept and guidelines etc here? This is getting to be a serious ongoing problem. It's also causing a lot of good members like myself not wanting to be here anymore as things are goiog downhill fast. That's all I just had to rant, rave, whine, or whatever you wish to call it.

I think it goes back to making a quick buck. I've noticed that even after being absent for awhile and going through some of the discussions that it all seems to be about the money and how many responses their discussions can generate. I myself most times find it hard to start a descent discussion. But many of the one's I have I usually have a hard time picking someone for the BR.

Heck I'd love to make the quick buck here also. But as we've seen as of late there's a lot of deletions occuring which cost members cash earnings and their points also. So as of late I've been doing members that have a decent rating etc as friends and discussions to respond to. It's really sad that I've turned my cheek to some of the newbies but I don't want to get points or earnings deducted from my account because I responded to those deleted discussions.

tHEY ASKED WITH HELP ON "UNRESOLVED" DISCUSSIONS. aND i DIDN'T SEE ANY THAT HAD ZERO RESPONSES AFTER LOOKING AT 20 OR SO. aNYHOW......HAHAHA

Standing in agreement with you GB - I actually had one friend that was awarding BR the minute someone responded.
As for people understanding - some don't care, some don't understand and only need some gental guidance, others just are Internet minded and may never get it.

LOL 'Doc Bob" if your dislexic then what am I "are Internet minded" should have been "aren't Internet minded".
Yes, I try to gentally guide but it doesn't always work and I've been a little edgy lately not having much patience with people...

One reason could be that they didnt actually read the guidelines at all. LOl! I always believe that I can always choose on how I respond to most things Grandpa Bob and sometimes I just choose to 'hit the roof' and to rant. I honor how feel Grandpa Bob but I would sure miss you a lot if you decide to leave. YOu would be such a great loss to a lot of member who has learned to look forward to your discussions and reponses. I still believe that the few good members and friends that I made here are worth staying on. I just ignore those that I don't jibe with. Happy posting Grandpa Bob!

I'm not thinking of LEAVING. I'm thinking of disappearing for a
month. But I highly doubt that will happen as I love this site, love the friends I've met and especially love the diversity and education available here. Like from you & others from different countries, cultures than other members. I just can't believe the gaul of some mebers. Asking for this type of help yet every discussion was awarded BR immediately. All that does is hurt their ratings in my eyes. Thanks for a response also.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Well, what I would like to add here is that either a newbie or the vetran both are doing their best to contribute here. But what you pointed out here is right that one must see the guidelines and also keep it mind what is going to be discussed and how to finalise. I don't want to blame others I too have so most of discussion having responses but yet to be finalised due to the fact that I feel myself responsible to award after having a deep look of all responses.
Another sort of discussion that I feel not much appreciating is "yes/no" based. I do start but try to add somethins that would enable others to answer in precise way. Much inspired of you and I believe that there are nice people like you who are getting the most of mylot :) God Bles you and have a nice day! Thanks for reminding all of us .... happy mylotting!

IOt's been done. Now it's a matter of wait and see if they've learned anything in a week or so. I think I'll check now. I knw when I commented on the discussion about unresolved discussions I was awarded BR immediately. Well one hour later. Unreal.

I must admit that I joined to earn for my posting, but I couldn't have been in that big of a hurry to earn my money as I didn't get back to this site for several weeks after joining. Having said that, after looking around at the different posts and quality of posts, I decided that I'd rather make new friends, exchange ideas or helpful hints, garner new information and learn about other countries. So, I'm glad to have met you Grandpa Bob and hope to hear more from you in the future. I have absolutely no idea what your talking about with the stars. And am I suppose to be rating other people's posts? See everyone in the morning.

yes rate all discussions and responses you recieve too. It's the way other people look at members and gives them the star ratings. It's kind of a popularaity thing in a sense. I rate all discussions I read and I also rate all responses as it helps me out also in the long run. Good to see you here also. Thanks for dropping in.

I would say you tried to solve the long term problem, rather than just the immediate problem, and if the message got through, then you did them a favor. If not, then you wasted your breath. Hope it helped. There are those of us that follow the rules, and we would like others to do the same.

Goodness Grandpa Bob you are on a roll today. Yeah I have run into a few people on here that do not take suggestions kindly and never have a good remark about anything, best thing I found to do is not put them on my friend's list so I don't have to view their discussions, I believe that is all we can do with someone that responds negative to a helpful suggestion.

Yeah seems like Wednsday late night early Thursday was a day for me to whine,vent, or whatever ya want to call it doesn't it? Guess I got sick of a lot of things I saw yesterday finally. Anyhow, this member is added and I feel it may change. But then again I was given the BR at this said topic asking for help. HAHAHA! Go figure. So I'll keep this one around a bit and see what transpires.

I think some people are just here to make some quick money. They don't care about taking the time to read stuff or taking the time to figure stuff out. They just think if they post stuff and reply to stuff that that's all that matters. I don't understand it sometimes.

Even is you leave for a month and come back it will be the same. I sometimes get discouraged on here as well. I think there are too many people on here that are more concerned making a few pennies than actually having a 'discussion'. I logged on this morning and noticed one girl was posting a question (simple ones) about every 2-3 minutes; probably getting ready to go to school??? I just logged back out.
Also, there are many posters who know so little English that some of their questions don't even made sense. It gets tiresome at times wadding through these posts to get to something worthwhile. Hang in there.

Hi grandpa, chill out! I can understand your sentiment. I've seen a lot of discussions like that too. It maybe this user like to attract mylotters to response or just don't have the time to read the guidelines here. Too many weirdos are sprouting like mushroom here lately. Mylot should required all members to undergo a complete tutorial about their site before allowing anyone to sign up. I am also losing my motivation to hang on. Too many bizarre things are going on here and I don't know anymore which one is right and which one is wrong. Just keep posting grandpa. Never let the matter bothered you.

I know what your ranting about, Grandpa Bob. My 1st 2 discussions were never responded to and wish I could just delete them but can't. They were my first attempts at starting discussions and realize now they weren't good enough so oh well. lol No worries for me. I've seen a couple ppl do that here when I go to respond to a discussion, br was already chosen and it wasn't even a good response. Jeezzzzzzz..ppl need to learn to wait a while b4 giving them or ppl will eventually just stop responding to their discussions.

I agree with Charlene, they were looking for something to write about. It was nice of you to try to help them of course but there's just no helping some people. Personally, I'm staying away from discussions on guidelines and am just going to follow them.

Thats a good idea considering the events that have been unfolding as of late. I too am very careful what I post, what I respond to etc etc. Thanks for the reposne also. Always good to see you in my threads.
