Well, I know my daughter was famous for throwing her socks and undies in crazy places in her room. Behind her book case, her bed, in the corner behind a mirror so on when she was that age. I found undies in the strangest places. I had several pair and got down to less than 5 and I had to go on the hunt. I was thinking there is no way the washer ate all these undies! I have had that problem for years. Mostly with socks though!

try to find out stephanie, if this is also the problem that you are having. if this is so, then you will have to make your child understand aboutt the need to properly use the hampers. place a hamper in her room so that she will place in there all the clothing pieces that she has used. this will save you a lot of work as to hunting those items around her room. keep on reminding her as regards this until, she has made a habit out of it.

When my oldest was little, I had a problem with my washer not working correctly. SO, not having the money to pay someone to come look at it, I proceeded to take it apart. Down in the bottom, underneath the agitator (the thing that goes around and around inside the tub), there is a tiny hole for the water to drain out of the washer. That was stopped up on mine. When I finally got a coat hanger down in there to hook out whatever it was...I pulled out...yep, you guessed it, a pair of my daughter's panties!!! From that time forward, I take all tiny socks and panties and things that could possibly fit in that hole, and either put them inside a lingerie bag (mesh bag with zipper) or else pin them with safety pins to a towel and wash towel and all. I did this with all the baby socks...it was the only way I could keep up with them. After drying, all I had to do was unpin them from the towel and voila! clean socks and panties.

My first thought on this was that she had thrown them away somewhere or hidden them because she had soiled them and she was too embarrassed to tell you. Does that sound like a possibility? Or, like in Sixteen Candles, your son is selling girl's panties in the boy's bathroom at school for a profit?

That is so funny. She might be having a little accident in them and flushing them down the commode, laught out loud. My washer used to eat socks like crazy also. Every time I would do laundry, the washer or the dryer would eat a sock or two of course that need a match to it. I bet they may be under the couch or the bed or something. They could have even missed the basket and went behind the washer or dryer.

there are some things which are best handwashed. if you do not want to do this at all, you will have to buy some of those bags which are made for the purpose of protecting some pieces of clothing which are delicate enough. delicate pieces of clothing will have to be placed inside the bag before tossing them into the washing machine. you must have noticed this long before. there are some types of cloth material which is not friendly to go to the washing machine. the washing machine eats them up, destroys them.

The wash machine only eats a few socks per year. It is the dryer that is at fault. I put the socks in but they don't come back out. There must be gremlins in my dryer. I have lost so many socks to that crazy dryer.

I know. My son had a drawer full of under wear and now I can only find like 3 pair. I am tired of having to buy new stuff.

yes Stephanie its not the washer thats eating your little daughters tiny little panties! Its the next door neighbour. Have you noticed anything strange about him? Is he hanging around your place on washdays? does he have a crooked smile on his Face? I'm wondering how many he can eat at one sitting? 30 pairs is a Lot of tiny little panties. Does she change them several times a day? Lets face it! This guy has a thing for Petite panties! Are these garmets in Question All the same colour? No your not the only one with this problem1! I'm reasonably sure your next door neighbour has it too

I have the same problem with Alexi's socks. And she's only two months old so she can't be hiding them from me already. I'm almost half tempted to give up on washing those things all together if I keep losing them lol
