100 years - do you want to live that long?
Philippines

people from the ancient civilization can live from 100 years and above. In our present time, do you still want to? Last sunday, the priest asked us this question. Many had just no reaction and many thinked about it. My present thinking about that is no. I don't want to live that long. Then the priest said that he too, does not want to live like that. He don't want to live for one hundred years because there are many things prohibited in that age, He said, "I want to go to the mall and I need a wheel chair, I want to eat Pork but it is a big no no.." He also said that what is life for in that age if he can't fully enjoy it. He'd rather die than have those. how about you? do you want to live that long?

Of course. What a no-brainer. :P I want to be immortal. Why does anyone want to die anyway?

I dont have the wish to live for more than 100 years.Yes the priest is right in his say..in old age we become a burden to family members.we have to depend upon them for each and every thing.I dont mean that family members will not take care of old people but sometimes they do get a irritated feeling when they have some problem and forced to show their anger towards old people.i have witnessed many old people being ignored and only a very few get better life till their end in old age. This above reasons make me think nto to survive for such a long time.

I know onr thing. I do want to live each moment of my life and enjoy it. I do not think in terms of years, i think in terms of moments and joy. there are people that do want to live till they will get to a hundrad because they are just affraid to die, ormiss somthing. I want to live just for living, and i never thing of it in terms of years. there is a jewish sentence, that people usually bless each other here, "hope you will have a good 120 years of living".

that's a nice way of thinking liranlgo. enjoy every moment as if it we're the last day of your life can be the best way to have a wonderful and more meaningful life. :)

no, i don't want to live that long either. I wanna grow old but not more than 100 years, i will just imagine myself having no teeth and it looks ugly, do you think. Eventhough at that age i am still alive, i know i can't do the things i like to do, like exercising. I kinda look retired. Maybe in God's blessing, if he will give me a chance to live that long, i wish i am still comfortable and someone is taking care of me.

yes I think its ugly but we will go through those situation in the future so no way we can be exempted from that unless we die early he he! :P

Erm... thinking about it, i dont think i would, mainly because of the fact that you would more than likely witness the deaths of your close relatives and maybe even your children. In my view, that it would be terrible to outlive your kids, seeing them old and ill. The restrictions that are placed on you are also enormous as you become frail and unable to properly look after yourself, its not something that i like the thoughts of...

I think it based on if I am healthy at that time . if I am healthy and with a good active body at 100 years old and I can do all the things by myself, I would like to live more than 100 years , as I can enjoy myself . if I could not live 100 years old with good healthy and have lots of ill with me, I don't want to live more than 100 years. I know some old man or woman who live more than 100 years with good healthy , and they really have a good luck that they can see more view of life can can take care of theirselves.

100 years seems a very long time for me. I don't expect it. I don't want to see my love passes away before me. I also don't want to see my child or grand child leaves before me. It's also sad that my friends will leave at that time. Perhaps I am alone, and long life won't have any meaning for me. Especially when I am old and not healthy. It could be a suffering.

Its really hard to live that long and sometimes, even if it hurts, we will be the one leaving our loved ones and hurt them rather than us being left and hurted by them passing away.

well no, I wouldnt want to live an unhealthy life. I want ot live an active fit life, at 100 you'd be quite the oposite. I'd rather die than having to worry about my health and be in pain all the time.

I don't think I want to live that long. In my family, we do live a long life, often until 90 years or more & mostly stay healthy. In my mind, there would be lots of medical problems by age 100. I would most likely be in a nursing home & lead a very restrctive life.

I want to live more that 100 years old IF I am still strong and very much able to do a lot of things at that time. I saw a 90 year old grandmother featured in one of our TV shows here and she can still climb coconut trees, fetch containers of water and still very strong. If I would be like that, then I will certainly want to live more. But if not and I would be bed ridden and become a burden to my family, I would rather not and would prefer to die earlier.

In my present age, I have already went through a lot of storms and sunshines. But I can't hop as fast as I used to be. So, no...I don't like to live to be 100. My grandmother passed away at the age of 98. She spent her last 6 years in her bed, helpless and feeling useless. I don't envy her old age.

If God will give me the strength and will allow me to exist that long provided with good health, then why not? But if I will just live miserably. I will just crave for my end.

I wouldn't want to live that long! Not in this day and age, there is so much badness and old people are so disrespected these days. I just want to live my life on earth, do my bit and be done with it, I think that's quite enough. :0)
