There was an article in the Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News the May 2007 issue about GlobalWarming. It is too long to cut and paste but here is a link to it. http://www.wecnmagazine.com/2007issues/may/may07.html#1 This is by Reid A. Bryson holds the 30th PhD in Meteorology granted in the history of American education. Emeritus Professor and founding chairman of the University of Wisconsin Department of Meteorology—now the Department of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences—in the 1970s he became the first director of what’s now the UW’s Gaylord Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies. He’s a member of the United Nations Global 500 Roll of Honor—created, the U.N. says, to recognize “outstanding achievements in the protection and improvement of the environment.” He has authored five books and more than 230 other publications and was identified by the British Institute of Geographers as the most frequently cited climatologist in the world. He beleivesthat we are nearing the end of the Little Ice Age and returning to "normal". He cites that Greenland was once farmed and is returning to that with the receiding Glaciers. Glaciers receiding in Switzerland are showing mines that have tools piled up ready to work the mine. It also has to do with the cycles of the sun which is warming. Man has very little influance overthe warming or cooling of the earth.

Thank-you so much for posting this link. I do not have any worthwhile academic standing or advanced degrees like the author. I am just really good at data analysis. My analysis of the data and reading of the appropriate studies causes me to concur with Dr. Bryson. However, given his reputation and achievments in the field of climatology, it means a lot more for him to say it. It is a public service to make people aware of Dr. Bryson and his article. Now, let's consider the following quote: "Whatever it may be, we had better start working on this problem...we only have 8 years before it gets out of proportion" The fellow who said this obviously did not read the article at the link.

Twenty five years ago I remember the cry that our continued use of carbon based fules would lead us into an Ice Age. Then it was Acid Rain and then they discovered a hole in the Ozone layer. Now it is Global Warming. I will do what I can but I am not giving up the things I have worked all my life for when Al Gore lives in a house that is large enought for a dozen families and uses tha same amount of fule as a smeall city. He can not fly comersially but needs a private jet. He wants us to sacriface everyting while he lives like a king, or should I say like a Polute Bureau member. He is selling a new form of Communisum.

Al Gore behaving as he does proves he does not believe what he says. It is that simple.
