I always check the profile of members requesting me as a friend and some of them have awesome layouts that I enjoy looking at. What I usually look for in a friend is age, interests and location. I'm finding it hard to read that information when the layouts are in colors that hide it. Does anyone know if there's a way to see what is written no matter what the color is? Am I the only one who has this problem or do you just accept or deny the request without reading the profile? Are members afraid to speak up about this or do they just not care?

I actually don't deny anyone's offer of friendship. I figure that they must have a reason to want me as their friend and that I should be kind enough to allow it. I do however look at someones profile when I first add them to see how many of their discussions I am able to respond to. I try to respond to as many as I possibly can so that I am helping out a friend. I have to agree that there are some that I am not able to read because of the background that they have chosen. I don't have a way to fix the problem, sorry that I couldn't help you on that matter.

I don't deny a lot of offers either but I like to accept only the ones that I know I will have something in common with or else what good is having them? I don't want to have hundreds of friends just for the sake of the number.

I check some of the profiles of my friends also. Some of the pages load very slow because of all the things they have added to them such as colors and backgrounds and music. I cannot read some of them either. I don't know how to make their words stand out past their background colors either. You are not the only having this problem. I care about it but members won't change their prifles to let us see what they have written I guess because they like the way they set it up. It is sure hard to read though.

Yes. I like to be able to read it also. I read the best response and that definitely would work to be able to read the pofile. I hadn't thought of doing that.

Maybe some will change theirs now but I doubt it since members have told me how to be able to read them. I think it would be nice if the information was right there to see, that's my only point.

I don't really know about this one. It's a personal preference on how someone does the layout of their profile and my guess is they don't really think about what others will think when they look at it.....but more that they themselfs like it.I've been paying much more attention to what kind of discussions someone has started or replied to....it's easy to put down interests....but what they actually write shows more about what they really like. It's their personal profile and they should be allowed to make it any way they want....so it doesn't make a difference to me either way.

I thought it was me when I couldn't read the info on the profile. Then noticed the colors were affecting the way information is being read. Many times I will add the person and then ask them the information. Also the person would like to know why the information cannot be read so I tell them. You can use personal messages for this.

Personally and not to be a biatch I think everyone should just have it so their profiles are readable....just my opinion....

Highlight it. If you highlight the general area where the words like age and location are or are supposed to be, you should be able to see them pretty well. Try my profile. The words are black against a black background. But if you highlight with your mouse (like you would in Word or such), you'll see the information.

I also always check the profiles of people I'm accepting as friends. I do this because one time I just added someone and then when I went in to reply to a post I saw that all his posts were about s3x and really quite disgusting. I also have problems sometimes with colour scheme - I try highlighting the whole page (control A) and sometimes that helps.

Hello, ctrymuziklvr,i will read the profiles of the members before i accept the requests, generally i will not deny any requests.I also notice it is hard to read the informations of some members, just like what you say,the informations are covered by the color of the layout. But you can actually see it after you move the mouse across,so it is not a big problem at all. Also the discussions and replies may be more important than the locations or names. Honestly, i have not told those members because they may think that is fine for them,i respect their choices.

I have that problems as well with some of the layouts. If the colours are all too similar they blend together and I can't read hem. I have found if you go over the links with your mouse and highlight them then sometimes they will show up.

I don't know how to help you about the color. What I do is accept all the friends who request my friendship. I don't spend the time going into the profiles and reading them. But this is something I should start.
