Wow, today was a scorcher here in southern Louisiana. It's after 8 pm and still 90 degrees outside. We have scattered thundershowers in the forcast but they have all managed to miss my area today. A little rain would be more than welcome to help cool off. The A/C has been running all day. If you walk outside you immediately break a sweat. Ewww. I'm finding the heat is really taking a toll on me this year and summer has only just begun. I guess this is just a factor of getting older. How's the weather/temperature in your area, and how is it affecting you so far this summer?

We are still pretty moderate in my book for central Kansas. We had some early spring heat, now things are about normal. We have had lots of rain, and I know the humidity makes it feel sticky and hot. This year we are having quite a bit of flooding. We went to one of the nearby lakes today, and the flooding has definitely been a problem. In the last week or so we have had some phenomenal wind. sustained at 35 mph, and gusts to 65. The one particular day I found the constant wind oppressive. Temperature today did not quite make it to 90. Go have some cold tea on me.

My kids and I spent the weekend at the Noreast'r Music & Art Festival where I live in Michigan so we were out in the heat. I could not tell you what the temperatures were here, but I know that it was hot during the day and dropped down a lot during the nights. My mom says it got down to 36 on the first night we spent there, although she did not tell me how hot it got. I know that they boys kept leaving the festival to head across the campground to the lake for a dip every once in a while, and I kept seeking out the shadiest areas I could find to enjoy the festival.

I was thankful that we didn't have rain for the weekend. After the big storm we had on Thursday night and the winds we had earlier in the day on Friday, I was worried about what the weather would be like for the festival.

Yesh summers are hot esp. in june in northern India where i live. Through out the day it is hot, warm outside and one is sweaty and needs to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. I take bath two times and need cool air though day to help cool off. IN noons, hot winds also tend to blow to add to woes. But ocassiona rains do give some respite.

Here in the UK we get the complete stickiness and humidity of the Summer, however, so far this June the weather hasn't been unbearable in fact it has been quite overcast. I do get affected by the heat it makes me more sleepy, irritable and uncomfortable.

We were lucky yesterday, we got rain just about all afternoon so the temperature went down to low 80's. We are supposed to have the same thing today. Just wish the humidity would go away!

Hi there kareng:) When temperature rises, we heat up and then we enjoy, isn't it so? if temperature is affecting you then you must be young not old. Getting heated up and sweating are signs of being youthful:)) It also depends on with whom you are taking a walk:) I hope it turns out to be better for you and don't get over burdening:)))
