Weeping left eye

Now and then my left eye weeps and I don't know why. It has been irritating me all of yesterday and today. I constantly wipe it dry and now there is a small dry reddish spot on my skin, underneath my eye (from all the rubbing/wiping). A lady at the mall today asked I was ok because it looked like I had been crying LOL
Does anyone else have this problem? How did you stop it from weeping?

I have experienced this problem before although it was my right eye....I began using some allergy eye drops and I have not had this problem in a long time....maybe it will work for you as well....
The worse part for me was always that little red bump..it would hurt so badly everytime I touched it after it formed...

Visine makes a good 3 way allergy eye drops....there are other good ones but that is the best one that I have found.

Do you wear contact lenses? Allergies? You could have something embedded in your eye that you don't really feel but it is irritating your eye enought to cause your eye to water. I think once I had something like a but wing stuck on my eye that was causing irritation. I had to go to the eye doctor. He got it off for me. If it doesn't go away soon, you should have it checked out. Take Care.

Hi miamilady, I don't wear contact lenses nor glasses, however I think I may need to have my eyes checked soon though! I never thought it to be allergies as I've never had it in my life so when Tina (person above) mentioned eyedrop for allergies I was like, hmm maybe it's that?!? So I went and bought the visine eye drops and it's actually cleared. I used it for three days and have not had a weeping eye since. Thanks so much for responding :)

I feel you should wash your left eye numerous times in day with running water, chilled water or ice esp. when you feel like wiping it. And when you have to wipe your eyes don't use your hands as it can cause irritation so use dry hanky. Or use some eye drops after consulting eye specialist.

Thank you banta for your advice, really appreciate it. I usually use tissue paper to wipe it if I have any on hand, otherwise I do use my hand. I washed my eye out this morning and will again a couple of times today to see if that helps. The previous post suggested allergy eyedrops so I'm going to try them :) thanks again.

Hello,maddysomommy,honestly i am not sure the real reason.May be you do not have enough sleep yesterday night and your eyes are still tired in fact,there will not be enough blood to your eyes and therefore left eyes weeps,but I am not sure your right eyes do not.
If it is really because of lack of sleep,you will be fine if your eyes have enough rest.

Hi easy888. Thanks for your reply. I think one of the responses above hit it on the nail and it may be that I need allergy eyedrops so I am going to look into that. My right eye is fine, its just my left that weeps now and then, and it doesn't hurt or anything but it does leave a small red mark on the skin under the eye from wiping it too much. Thanks again :)

Hi maddysmommy. I dont what it is you are experiencing with your left eyes. But I have similar experience with my left eye too. My left eye also weeps but it it not irritating or itchy. I have vision problems with my right eye and my left eye is my good eye. I think it is because of too much staring at the computer screen.

That could be it too as I know I am on the computer everyday. I am going to try out some allergy eyedrops as I think that might solve my problem. Thanks for your reply ellie26 :) Have a nice day!
