Did you hear that Angelina Jolie wore a $26 dress to a big celebrity event? Angelina Jolie did a big celebrity event recently, wearing a vintage black crushed velvet evening gown that she got from a second hand store. Angelina looked beautiful in the gown, of course. Thank you Angelina for showing us that it's OK to be cheap chic!

Wow, I hadn't heard of that! I'm glad that not all celebrities think they have to wear such expensive stuff to those events. Clothes don't have to be so expensive to still look nice!

It was a gorgeous black crushed velvet dress! Wish you had seen it! She looked so glamorous and elegant. Of course, it didn't hurt that she's a real classy lady anyway! Brad is a lucky man.

there are great articles of clothing that can be found at thrift stores...fortunately my kids love getting clothes there and i can bypass the wayy too expensive trendy clothing stores that charge $25-$40 for just a t shirt (yipes!)

And, many items at second hand shops are brand new, or practically brand new items that were only worn a few times and then tossed aside by someone with slightly more money to waste. That's such a shame. I wish there weren't such a stigma about being thrifty and frugal.

hmm... i wouldn't go to the extend of calling her a cheap chic. More to a prudent chic! ;) heh heh... actually, many a times, clothes of similar quality are priced differently all because of a brand name. Who says cheaper alternatives are no good? She is one who proved her peers wrong. I guess, if she didn't reveal that her dress was that price, no one would have guessed... rite?

That is super cool! I think it would be wonderful if more celebrities would realize that they can look just as good in second hand items as they do in dresses that were made just for the one event, and then will never be worn again. How wasteful is that?!

She looked gorgeous! She told the reporter that she and a friend had gone into the shop looking for second hand baby clothes and that's when she found the dress. I'm thinking smart mommy!

I think what Angelina Jolie did was pretty awesome. Celebrities waste so much money these days on stupid stuff like closets and closert full of clothes and stuff like that. Like they would buy a dress and only wear it once. What is up with that? I think if the clothes look good on you and you like it then you should buy it, even if the shirt costs $10 or less.
