What is everyone knitting now that Summer is here? )Though its raining here in Wales right now). I'm busy knitting socks ready for the winter, but I'd like to find time to knit a little shrug cardigan for the autumn as well.

It's been a long time since I knit something. I believe that was in highschool. I had a grand time then, knitting sweaters for myself and family members. Hmmmm.... I think I should take it up again. I am a little rusty though, I think I have to start from scratch, LOL!

I decided to add a couple of narrow panels to a blanket I made last year, to make it wider, and I also found some patterns for knitted doilies. I'm going to make the centers of them and glue to some soapstone coasters I have because condensation from cold drinks makes the glasses 'stick' to the soapstone, until you lift them up, then they fall off and break. Other than that, I haven't started anything. I usually concentrate more on needlepoint or embroidery when the weather is hot.

I can't knit but I am crocheting a pink sweater with "feathers". It is a special request from my Godson's daughter. I am also loom knitting a shawl.

I have a business where I give away hat & scarves to the needy. So I'm working on those. I have a knitting machine and I hope to be able to give away other items of clothing too.

well i do not differenciate between the seasons when i am knitting i do not let what season or temperature it is influence what i decide to knit at the moment i am working on knitting a sweater made of autumn colors and a blanket made of green and black camoflage yarn i love knitting blankets and could knit them all year round i would like to try to knit a pair of socks for so when it turns really cold this winter i think what you are talking about knitting ( a shrug cardigan or some kind of shawl) would be a fun project to start knitting i hardly have any time to knit so if i want to have something done by the winter i have to start knitting it in the summer to have it done on time

Im knitting a shawl for my soon to be grandchild. Its white, and in 3 ply. I would have liked to have knitted a pure wool one, but couldnt find any. But its ideal summer knitting. Im finding it more and more difficult to get good knitting patterns lately, so if you find one for your shrug, please pass it on! Im also in Wales, and its a grey and rainey day here.
