Do you ever eat alone in a restaurant?

I know some people who have never eaten alone in a restaurant. They find it embarrassing. I felt the same way when I was a kid, but things/views change as one grows older. I've realized that there actually isn't anything wrong with eating alone. I actually enjoy my time alone with my food. I don't need to rush nor talk to somebody, but enjoy every taste of the food in front of me.

There have been times when I have been out and about, taking care of business and I will stop at a nice restuarant and eat alone. However, I have never felt comfortable with it and don't do it anymore. Maybe, I am embarassed. But, for me I think that it has more to do with making things like that very special and how special could it be alone? I don't know, that is just me.

Well, you're right. Somehow it would make the experience much more memorable. But there are just cases wherein you'll be on your own. And when that happens, you shouldn't be ashamed of that. Try eating out alone and observe the people around you. Some would give you this "pity" look. I just hate that. But then, I guess it all depends on how you take it.

I don't have too much of a problem with it. I don't do it on a usual basis, but when I travel I don't mind. I usually take a newspaper or something to relax and read inbetween ordering and getting served, etc. I don't find it embarrassing, just peaceful.

I'm glad you find it that way. I sometimes bring some reading material along with me, or would message some friends using my phone while waiting to be served.

I actually enjoy eating alone and often prefer to have it that way. I don't go out to a restaurant alone too often but I've really enjoyed it on the rare occasion that I've dined alone.

I tried it, but not so often. I don't like the feeling to eat alone in the restaurant. I feel nervous and I won't stay in the restaurant for a longer time. I will leave when I finish my meal.

I'm actually the opposite. After a meal, I'd stay put, and just sit and watch the people around me.

I often eat alone in a restaurant especially during breakfast. But if given more opportunity, I prefer to eat along with those who enjoy eating too. The food becomes more delicious if you are eating with those who enjoy your company, and emjoys eating too

I eat alone in restaurants and cafes all the time. I am not upset eating alone, in fact, I really enjoy it. I love being able to go where I want when I want, and not have to worry about not having a partner to join me. It's nice to have some time to myself.

i've always eat meals alone at fastfood chains but not alone at diner or at any fine dining restaurants. i can also enjoy my food being alone when i want to or just catching up any time schedules for the day but it would be more enjoyable and sumptuous the food you can appreciate when shared with family or any special people you love.

I have never eaten ina restaurant by myeslf...I would feel weird sitting there with no one to talk to =) I don't even like going to the grocery store by myself, I always take my kids with me! I have started going to the movies by myself though, and I admit the first time I felt like a major loser going in by myself, but now I like it. I don't have to share my popcorn and I don't have to take one of my kids ot the bathroom =) I think it is something people have to get use to.

I also felt weird the 1st time I ate a restaurant alone.hehe But you're right, it's a matter of getting used to it. I don't mind now, I learned to love it.hehe The very 1st time I went to watch a movie by myself made me feel independent.haha I know, it wasn't such a big deal.hehe But during that time it was. To actually go in a dark cold place full of strangers is a bit scary for someone who hasn't done that yet.hehe
