What are your thoughts about Paypal?

Paypal - Paypal watching out for you!

I have been using Paypal for over 5 years and for the most part have had very good luck with them. Since I do a lot of shopping online and they are accepted by almost every store on the internet it's a convenient way for me to pay. Being an ebay seller it's also the best way for me to get paid for my auctions and most ebayers have it. The best part for me is that I have their debit card and they don't charge any fees to use it and I get interest on whatever I buy. Like everything else in life Paypal does have it's drawbacks. Just this morning I found out that I could be in trouble because I joined one of those randomizer sites. Thankfully it was only $1.50 so it's not a big loss to me. I received an email from someone telling me I should cancel my randomizer membership because Paypal will put a hold on my account which as an ebay seller I can't afford to let happen. After I received the email I remembered that a game site I belong to used to accept Paypal but had to stop because paypal will not accept any payments having to do with gambling sites. I realize they are trying to look out for our best interests but it's my decision if I chose to gamble and they shouldn't be able to tell me what I can do with my money. Have you had any dealings with Paypal that made you feel different about them? What do you think about Paypal?

I like Paypal very much they make life very simple when selling and buying on Ebay, I understand your comment on the gambling part of things but I cant help thinking that maybe it has more to do with the security of these sites maybe, I don't think Paypal could really be bothered with being judgemental, just my opinion.

Actually, I have been kind of disappointed, I thought everyone accepted paypal, but one of my guilty pleasures is reading...and I read ebooks and I found out that ereader does not accept Paypal. So I will spend my earning else where. Maybe iTunes maybe not.

Well, I usually like best sellers...and people who are selling them on ebay would be selling them illegally more then likely and if people don't buy them legally they will become unavailable or exorbitantly priced. So I buy them at ebooks.com

I'm very surprised that ebooks doesn't accept paypal as payment. I find that odd. Have you checked out ebooks on ebay? A lot of people sell them a good prices.

At first, I had a hard time withdrawing my money. And just today, after visiting the witdraw page again, weird but it was so easy. They will send my money via cheque and all I need to do is pay them the fee and that's it. But before, it wasn't that easy. They kept asking me for my routing number thing and add a card. I hope you don't mind, so you're a paypal debit card holder right? So, before, did they asked you to put your routing numbers first as one of the requirements?

To open an account with paypal and to add any subsequent account they require routing numbers. I know it can be a pain but I found it well worth it.

PayPal - verified!
I've gotten a few payments so far deposited into my PayPal account. So far I have nothing but good things to say about them. I have shooped online already and that was a quick transaction. Got my product 2 days later via express mail. Then I also deposited most my funds recently into my bank account and that amount was credited 2 business days later. So that also was smooth going. So all in all I feel it's a great site for this type of activity/work online. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I can't say anything bad about PayPal.....so far I've had no problems with them at all.I'm not sure that they droped that site due to it being a gambling site.....because I play the paid games on Mypoints all the time and they still accept PayPal as a payment option.Maybe there was some other issues with that site that you may not have been aware of. If it was due to the gambling.....than yes I have to agree with you. They should not be allowed to tell you how, when or where to spend your money. They are really good about answering any questions you have(one more reason I'm very happy with them)and maybe you could ask them about it.I'm sure they would give you a explanation.

It certainly is the best way to pay for online purchases. I don't think I ever came across a store who doesn't accept paypal for purchases.

I've never had any trouble with Paypal. It's the only way I could have opened up my Etsy store. The only thing I have to look for are the paypal scam emails. Luckily I know enough never to respond to those in any way, and to report them right away.

I love pay pal. I've been using it for ebay and other things for about 5 years now. I used it when me and a friend tried starting a s mall business. It was simple to get and unfortunatly refund money. I also get interest on my Pay Pal account. It's up to 5% now.

I didn't realize the interest changed at all. I've been with them about 5 years also and basically am happy with them.

I have been using paypal or about 7 years now and have only had problems with them once.I was transferring money into my paypal, then I had an emergency and needed the funds in my bank to use and I called paypal to cancel it and they said that they do not do that for me to go ahead and remove the money from my bank and then when the paypal transaction went to my bank themoney would not be there.I did remove the money from my bank and paypal stillgot the money. And this was a savings account. So either pay pal or my bank messed up.

It sounds a little confusing to me but that's what banking and finances are about. I'm happy you got it all taken care of though.

I like Paypal, although they've started charging more fees. And I don't like that, of course. Overall, it's a good service. Be careful about those email many are fraudulent. Call Paypal before you answer one.

I have never had any problems using Paypal. I don't sell on Ebay, but for my other transactions, they have always worked out correctly. You are right when you say they are trying to look out for the user. Without strict rules and certainties, it would be too easy for scammers and abusers to profit at our expense.

I'm now understanding their reasons for not wanting to have anything to do with gambling sites and I'm ok with it. They are looking out for my best interest.

I like paypal- but I have encountered a problem with them- I bought something on e-bay for my mom-- she won it and wanted to give me the cash and I was going to use my cc with paypal- I have money in paypal from mylot- I am saving this to use in November when we shop- My bank account info is not right- I changed banks- paypal would not allow me to use the cc- but instead I had to use my balance-?? go figure- why couldn't I pick the way I spent the money?

That's one of the few things I don't like about them also. When I want to pay my ebay fees I sometimes want to use my credit card but they always take out my paypal balance first. I don't like that.

I'm sure eventually they will include your country. They are changing things all of the time. At least you can use it to purchase items.

So far I haven't had any problems at all with Paypal and since I haven't joined up with those randomizer sites I most definitely haven't had problems---I like for instance how my earnings from myLot go into the Paypal account and helps with automatic deductions for anything I purchase say from e-bay-also if I want to transfer any earnings can transfer it to my regular bank account

Your smart to stay away from randomizer sites. I got suckered in once and it won't happen again. I was lucky enough to get my $1.50 back but I"m sure if it was more I wouldn't have.

Well I use to sell my Father in law arts via Overstock, not ebay. At that time, ebay was charging way to much to sell and the other site was half the cost. Well we stopped selling that way but I kept the account, didn't think there was any harm in it. Then one day about 3 months later I decided to check my account. There was funds in there! I though what in the world. Apparently my father in law sold a piece from his shop and the women did not have cash, so he told her to go online and pay him via paypal. He didn't say a word to me and he forget about it. He's that sweet of a person. Any way after I figured out what happened, then I seen paypal was deducting a fee every month from my balance for no reason other than I had a balance and they felt like a bank, they needed to do that. I have had this account for many years and when I signed on, that wasn't part of the deal. Now I check it often and as soon as a balance is there, I snag it out.

hmmm...it must have something to do with the type of account it is. But then I never have any money in there for any length of time either so I would never see that happen. It's a good thing you found that out huh?

I actually haven't had much experience in using paypal other than getting paid by mylot. I don't sell things on ebay and I don't use paypal for anything else, so I have had not problems with it so far.

I absolutely love Paypal. I use it for all of my money making websites, and I sell a little on Ebay. I actually have the debit card through paypal and I use it for my day to day expenses like gas and food. It is great. The fees for selling on ebay and such that they take I think are a little too high, but I don't complain because I still am making good money.

I'm happy to see that you also have the debit card. It's great isn't it? For me it comes in very handy and I love it.

So far I've only been with paypal for about 5 months. I've had positive experience with them so far. I've never had any problems transferring money in or out of my account. I'll continue to use them for quite a while as long as things continue to go well.

Well I am still new to paypal. I just signed up for it when I started at mylot. So as of today I have been happy with them. Could you give a little bit more info on the randomizer sites. I have never heard of these. What are they? I would really like to know so that I could stay clear of them.

I'm happy that you haven't had a problems with Paypal and more than likely you won't. Their actually very good. You will know a randomizer site when you see it because it actually says the word randomizer. Not a good thing I can tell you that.

I have had no problems with paypal. I like them since they're pretty simple and straight forward. I never knew about gambling sites but then again I never joined any so I've been ok so far. All in all, it's good. I've never had any dealings that made me feel different about them whatsoever.
