Ive been here nearly Eight months now and still have some of my very earliest discussions without a response. Infact the first one i launched about an impending trip to Australia got not one reply. Why does this happen? am i the only one?

Hi ESKARENA1. I too have one discussion that has no reply. It was one of my early discussion when I first join mylot. I don't know why it has got no reply until now but I do hope that it will get one so that I can clear my unresolved discussions.

I do not have any secret or formula to share. Probably a good and interesting discussion plus a catchy subject will do.

Yes I have quite a few posts that people have ignored. It can get very annoying sometimes, because you are hopeing that everyone can see whatever news you are trying to put out. You should just try again later when your post has been buped down to re-post it.

Actually, you might want to read what the guidlines say about making the same post twice before doing this. It is against the guidelines and your post is probably going to be deleted.

I allmost never select best responce. The only reson I do is if I had a discussion with at least 5 responces and two responces to the responces. Oher than that, I just keep chatting in that discussion.

You are not the only one in this regard, ESKARENA1 . Many of the topics I posted earlier failed to fetch any response from members . Looking back at them, I feel that those were quality posts which rightly deserved several responses.

I can see how you feel. Although the longest post I had ever made was only had two responces. So i dont know if just the fact a post has alot of quality makes it fetch alot of responces.

You are not alone at all. I am newer on this forum, though, but I have a couple of well-written posts not yet responded to for months now. I don't know why myself, but it is embarrassing all the same. That phenomenon questions the real import of having friends on myLot. Even if a post is silly, it ought to earn a response, even in a rebuke form. I think myLot should borrow a leaf from Yahoo! Answers. On that forum, all 'stupid' and 'non-stupid' discussions have a fairer chance of being responded to, since no post can continue to receive repetitive responses for ever, especially if it is on a 'popular' topic, while some other good but unfortunate ones gather dust for ever.

well, congratulations to you. I sort of knew i wasnt the only one, but it did strike me as odd that the very first discussion i launched lasted 8 months without 1 single reply. Just wondered if some discussions get lost in the mass? blessed be

No, of course you are not the only one, I have had them in the past, usually what I do is send a private message to some of my close myLot friends and ask them if they won't comment on them for me, usually this will bring them to the top of the list again and evidently others will start answering too!! You can send me a PM with the ones you want answered and I will answer them for you, if you want!

oh yeah, both old ones and new ones....i have about 3 or 4 discussions with no response and 1 or 2 with 1 response. It is very irritating but some others have good amount of responses so it kind of balances stuff off.

Somebody seems to respond to every post I have written, I think there are one or two with only that one response though. I haven't checked yet, but I don't think I've got any with zero response. But I am a bit late coming on today and I have a pile of emails notifications piled up. Our radiator started leaking and it was a small rubber washer in the valve I needed and I have been all over the city trying to find one. Got one eventually half and hour ago.. Now who'd ever think I could have got it all along in B & Q - I've been driving around all the specialist plumber stores! And what's that got to do with how many responses I get? Absolutley nothing! Just thought I would take out my frustrations - LOL..

This did not happen to me. I do not start many discussions. I do not get many replies when I start discussions, at least not on the average. But all the discusssions that I started got at least several replies. I am happy that they did because so I got at least my penny credited to my account.

Yes, I found starting discussions seem to get less posts for to the person who started them. Its just odd. But then if your responding to them, it seems as if a million people had responded to it.

When I was new here I had several discussions with no responses. It happens because we don't have our names out there so much for people to find us. Many members won't notice the newbie as quickly, and many of these discussions will be passed by. I have gone back into the discussions of some of my friends and picked up some of these discussions with no responses. Apparently I didn't go far enough back into yours because I didn't find these ones. Sometimes even when I do find them though, if I don't know anything about the topic, I may not be able to make a response. I also try to go into the new member discussions and the discussions with no responses sections and at least respond to a few from them whenever I get a chance. Obviously I can't help them all out, but even if I can help a few of them it is better than nothing.

Hi Eskarena, I've been pretty lucky and although some of my discussion have got low responses I have not got a discussion yet that hasn't had any responses, so I guess I'm pretty lucky. I'm suprised you have too as your discussions are usually really good and I'd love to answer them all if I could find the time! Have a great day! Brightest Blessings!

Yes some of my old discussions were very lacking in responses :( It is funny how some discussions just seem to take off and others just sort of dribble. I usually have some friends now who go into all my discussions and post..even if I did not do a real great job in topic selection..lol cheers,
