Every couple of hours I keep on hearing this massive crash, I thought to myself 'whats that'. I live across the road from the bush. There are all these massive Gum Trees falling, they are everywhere....About 15 so far. I think from all the rain that we have been having Although its not raining today, and the winds that are blowing a gale. These poor trees are just falling like match sticks from the roots. Its so sad to see these 50 + year old trees going like this.

It must be a loss to see those trees falling:( I hope that your house is completely safe. Do they fall on front or at back side. It's easy to cleanup on front. 50+! they must have had their time, it's a natural system to give chance to new life. It happens all the time. Are authorities doing something about it or are they silent because it is legal? anyways, I hope there will soon be new trees there! what do you think, is there any effort to replace them?

They had a few people there this afternoon cleaning up, I really dont know if they will replace them with it being a forest, but there are lots of saplings around anyway.

what use they make of fallen trees there? are machines used to clean up the bushes and what use they make of gum? it's interesting to know that there are saplings. I wonder when they will rise to take place of their elders, or if they will ever!)) Ah fallen trees!! I must be writing something for those poor souls!

They actually just mulched them up in the big machines, I suppose to put into parks as ZI have seen the mulch in parks before. The saplings are about4 foot high so they have a lot of growing to do.

That's terrible, calais. It must be cause the ground is so wet. It is such a shame. I think a lot of sunny days are needed to give the trees and gardens a chance. It is just too wet. I so dont understand the weather. I hope it clears up, cause i am travelling over that way in a few days to look after my parents for a couple of weeks, and it will be terrible if the kids cant get outside. Best wishes to you, calais, and hope the sun starts shining

When a bad storm hits our area it is sad to see the mighty trees that once stood strong against the sky now lay in a broken mass scattered here and there.

It has been raining for 3 weeks and then the strong winds came, I suppose the ground is just too wet to hold them.

Its horrible when it rains too much, and the trees can cause a lot of damage.

That is very sad. People have no regard for nature, any more than they have for animals. You would think with the human intelligence, they would care more.
