This is clearly meant ( on Mr. Bush's behalf ) as a slap in the face to decency. But more importantly....why Can't the american public get their hands on Mr. Cheney's " Top-Secret " papers for spying on Joe Six-pack ???? And after 37 years of living on this planet...it has finally dawned on me that the Real reason the Media will not report on Real issues , Like F.E.M.A.'s prison Camps and Real I.D. is....when you dig down deep enough....you see things like....( Say for instance ....) General -Electric as an investor in N.B.C. Media ,well....maybe someone at General-Electric has ties to the Current White-House and they don't want to offend their " Good Ol' Buddy " up there....so they send a Memo as to what N.B.C. can / cannot say on certain issues. But yet...you hear the Phrase used by Mr. Bush " The Drive - By Media " well.....He should know...he's behind the wheel. The control that Mr.Bush has over this country is frightning !!! and it's only getting worse.

Thank you Republican Menu , for keeping a cool head on this conversation. I think it's more than obvious...your Feelings about Liberals. If you have read any of my Posts you will note that ....yes I am a Liberal . I'm so Liberal....I make the Kennedy's look Conservative. But here's the Klinker...are you ready???? I am from a Staunch Republican Family. I see both sides of the fence. I don't receive my Marching Orders from any talking point. I also enjoy conversing with Conservatives , whom Maintain a Civil head. I take what they have to say , and believe it or not...on many occasions I have to agree w/ them. Take for instance...the immigration -Bill. Mr. Bush wanted that to pass...did he not ???? I see that issue as a direct threat towards my American - Freedoms. Now....let's get down to my Conspiracy - issues , that you believe I have been brain washed by.... Have you researched the C.F.R. ( Council on Foreign Relations ) or the Trilateral Commissions? And what their Specific offices entail???? But more importantly than this....I am comfortable with your demeanor in this Conversation , because that is your American privelege to feel this way. I thank you for yor time , and to you my Conservative friend , all I can say is....peace to you and One Love.

The problem with people like you is that you believe too many conspiracies. Lay off of those things and you'll be all right. Bush is a decent president who is much better than the dirt bag Clinton. When Bush leaves office, he will be seen as the "Man who got Hussein when everyone else were scared to." Bush is not a chicken and a loser like a liberal or democrat. Are you two upset at that?

The whole thing was a sham. Fitgerald knew who the "leaker" was long before he even questioned Libby. How do you "obstruct" an investigation that has already found out the facts? Where are the charges against Armitage? Isn't he the one who "outed" Valarie Plame? If the guy who supposedly did the "crime" isn't being charged, and someone who was questioned a year after the case should have been closed. I say Fitzgerald is the real criminal here.

Scooter was the fall guy, and for that kind of loyalty he should be rewarded. The public does not really know enough about the real workings of the political system to make a judgememt. All we can really hope for is that the powers that be, can keep this country powerful and as free as a country can be, and still function. The general public is so ignorant and misinformed of what it takes to maintain the bill of rights I am amazed that we still we have them. The only thing that is equal among humans is thier inequality.

Fall guy for whom? I have been involved in politics for the last 40 years and cannot understand some of the statements made without validation. Loyalty to whom? The public? A CIA agent that is outed when she is trying to do her job and what happens to the person responsible? He is found guilty by a Grand Jury and then is pardoned? Have you ever been the victim of a crime and the criminal got off? I have.

Loyalty to the people he worked for, the administration. Why the admin. does the dumb things it does is beyond me. I have a feeling this whole scooter libby thing started at the top and he was just the errand boy. He was most likely told if he would bite the bullet he would be taken care of. I would not be surptised that when Bush leaves office he will quietly give him a full pardon. There is no integrity left in our gov. at all. The people should be getting scared about the lack of it. Integrity and the rule of law go hand in hand and with out it you no longer have a viable government.

He was found guilty by a grand jury of five felony counts for obstruction of justice, making false statements, and perjury. He is an (or was) an attorney. A memory of facts, legal language and law are necessary to function as an attorney. It would take and incredulous lack of forethought to think he couldn't remember if he put someone's life in jeopardy (CIA agent) by outing her. Imagine if you worked for the CIA-would you not think someone in his position would not protect your identity? He lied. He got caught. Bush pardoned him for his own politically driven reasons. I don't understand why Clinton's pardons are brought up considering Reagon pardoned 393 and commuted the sentence of 13.

If Scooter Libby outted a CIA Agent why wasn't he charged with that crime instead of lying to a Grand Jury. The Outting charge carrys a 10 years prison term. The reason is that no crime was committed by Libby. Richard Armitage is the one who leaked the name of Valeri Plame and her connection to the CIA. IF it is a crime and Mr. Libby can go to jail for lying about it why isn't Mr. Armitage being charged? The reason is because he is not connisdered a Bush insider and can't be connected to Bush and embarass him. This whole trial is a political exercise in trying to hurt Presiden Bush and by hurting Bush they are hurting the Country.

I hate to agree with you but this is a case of the elite get treated differently that a ordinary person. This and the Martha Stewart Case point this out. Both were charged with a process crime because thier story did not agree with another persons story. Both invesgations were headed by Special Proscuters who main interest is furthering thier career. With Martha Stewart they were invesgating insider trading and the main witness against her and her broker was a person caught in insider trading. He got a lighter sentence if he would testify against Martha Stewart and Peter Bacanovic. Both of whom told the same story and both who served jail time. The star witness agains them agreed to testify in exchange for a lighter sentence. He is the one who told Martha STewart to sell her stock. Scooter Libby was convicted of lying to a Gran Jury. Immage testifying for several hours with out notes about things that happened years ago and you are asked to remember specific dates and phone calls. The reporters had the same problem but were not charged with lying to the Grand Jury. One of the things that should be proven by the procesuter is what Crime did he lie about? If he lied about a crime who is charged with that crime? If the person admitted to the crime why is he not charged? President Bush should pardon Scooter Libby and call for a full invesgation into the Special Procuter for failing to do his joy and wasiting time and money of the government.

Martha Stewart was told to sell her shares on the advice of the assistant broker, who made the plea agrement. Acording to the SEC insider trading is when you act on information that you have and others do not. There were 40,000 shares of the stock traded during those two days. They could not convict anyone on insider trading so they charges someone with a process crime for not saying what the prosecuter wanted to hear. With Scooter Libby I ask again what crime was committed. If he did not out Valari Plame (which someone else confessed to) then what date he talked to a reporter is immaterial. The reporters also go confused when testifying before the Grand Jury so why weren't they charges with Obstruction and giving false testomeny to the Grand Jury. They did the same thing that Scooter Libby did. Since it has also been pointed out that Valeri Plame never was a covert agent and not covered by the Law. Any time she worked overseas she was covered by Dipolmatic Immunity because her husband was a dipolmat. This whole thing was a ploy to make President Bush look bad and hopefully force him from office. It is interesting that every complaint the Democrats have about this case it was alright for President Clinton to do it. He l;ied to a grand Jury, He lied to the American Public, he pardoned people connected to the scandles beign invesgated.

First of all the crime is he lied and obstructed justice. He did not lie about a crime he lied about what he said. The reporters were not on trial for obstruction of justice, Scooter Libby was. The special prosecutor did his job and the Grand Jury did their job based on the information. If his memory is really that bad, then how did he pass the bar? Martha Stewart received insider information and acted upon it-plea bargains were made per normal to get a lighter sentence for the brokers.

I am not saying I dont think Scooter Liby shoudlnt have gotten jail time but I do think there were alot of other people who shouldve been there first. Without a doubt he is the fall guy. As everyone else has pointed out if there was a crime why hasnt someone been charged with it? Wy is because it got our attention (meaning the public) focussed on someone and thats all that mattered. I have to admit I agree with herbaggs on this one the integrity of our government is gone and has been so for awhile. Who's fault is it that these things happen and get swept up before any real justice comes out? Of course its the politicians buts its the american peoples fault to because we have all to often accepted it and let it happen.

I am glad to hear of the sentence suspension. When Bill Clinton did that, was it was ok? Libby was not the guilty one. Clinton pardoned many convicted criminals before the end of his sloppy presidential career.

Hillary said today that President Bush commuting the sentence of Libby was an admission of wrong doing. If that is true then President Clinton pardoning Susan McDougle must be an admission of guilt on his part.
