This is very cool! A solar powered electricity generating tower! It is new and doesn't collect and make enough electricity right now, but it is increasing quickly. Way to go! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6616651.stm

Makes you wonder why all the good things are now coming from other countries. We could have and hopefully will be doing these kinds of things. Maybe we should be moving to other countries like all those countries peoples are moving here. Kind of like swapping countries.

Initially, this sounds a good idea, but what would happen when there are thousands (or millions) of them all over the world, would these solar power stations remove a lot of the heat from the surrounding areas and actually change the weather patterns? Like a lot of solar/wave/wind generators, a few of each in each country may not cause any problems, but I would be vary wary of having a lot of them, as no one knows what effect (if any) that massed generators will have on the environment.

Thanks for the link, really interesting - We should have something like that during the summer but in winter we need another source of energy. Maybe someone makes and invention to get some energy from darkness. There is enough or that during winter here. There is some wind energy here as far as I know, maybe they will develop it further.

With our need for new energy sources ever increasing, it is great to see that some take it seriously and harness the one power source that could be beneficial to all.

It would be nice if we could all be solar powered. This is a start...
