It was hard, i was away from home when my dog died and mother didnt mention anything about it.She never texted me or called me.When I got home there was this deafening silence, there was no barking from the handsome Chris adonis, he was not there to welcome me.I looked around, very excited eager to hug my dear old buddy. Then mother came and explained.Oh boy,I hate it.its like announcing that a close relative died.I was speechless went straight to my room and cried till I cried no tears. Its like, oh boy,I hate this feeling. I hate crying over pets when they die. I have decided not to get one.My mother was crying too,she said Chris Adonis was like the youngest in the family and was treated like one of us.

I am very sorry for your loss. Since we live outside of city limits we have many cats and some dogs come for help that have been abused and have no one, no home, no food etc. We have very soft hearts and take care of as many as possible, so you can imagine how our hearts are ripped open when any of these poor animals die. I also do not want anymore pets because of the pain of loss. The next thing I know there is a kitten or dog sitting on our lawn usually starving and boney....sometimes someone has shot them and they can barely walk. Off to the vet we go quite often. We become attached immediately. So I really relate to you. God bless you and I know you will see your sweet and precious dog again in Heaven.

Two years ago my dog disappeared. It was really old (11 years), so it was like loosing a person of my family. It's a pain that nobody can understand.

I'm sorry for what you went through. I am glad you treat your pets like family, you have a kind heart! I think it could be best not to own a pet because of the pain of losing one, but the joy of having a pet is bigger! Take care Zelmarq

I know the feeling. I was at work, forty miles from home when my wife rang me to say both our big friendly dogs had been posioned and were dying with their heads on her lap in our garden. My wife was much stronger than me that day. We both have grown up children, so those two dogs were our 'boys'. 18 maonth on and they're still missed, and not replaced.

How sad for you. I'm sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. We all get attached to our pets. They are a part of our family, and we miss them so much when something happens to them. I have lost pets in the past, and it has hurt a lot. I would cry for days.

I am so sorry about your dog but I totally understand what you mean. Our pets do become part of our family and it is hard when we loose them because they are family.

i guess it is really our nature that we really feel intimate to the things or animals,or people who we consider evry close to us,and when these things and or these people will disappear from us, we really feel pain and lonesome.
