Well at 9 a.m,. the wife, myself, mt daughter, and our youngest grandson decided we wanted to do something. Now my son STILL hasn't paid us the $400 we loaned him a few months ago. I look at it as another loss. His loss mostly. Well we had,t seen nor heard from him in 6 weeks so we went to his apartment. Listening to his escuses etc we wrote this off as yet another loss. But miostly his loss. We didn't argue or even discuss a payment or anything erlse except i said he is done geting money from us under any circumstances. So we picked him up and we all went to a local Waterpark for a few hours of fun. We stayed 4 hours loving the water and all. We left and there were severe stroms approaching. We got home and it did pour for a little while but that was it. Now the funny thing. My wife, myself, and our daughter sat outside at our patio table. We didn't open the umbrella. We ate watermelon out there. yet it was sprinklingh outside. We felt like idiots but were so tired from the fun at the waterpark that we sat there eating the watermelon till it rained hard. We did not get up until we all 3 had finished the watermelon though. Have yoyu ever sat out in the rain without an umbrella or cait just eating for the heck of it? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My hubby, daughter and I just got home from the local water park. We were there for a couple hours but had loads of fun on the waterslides. There was a tube slide and 2 body slides, slow and fast. Went down the slow one at first but that was too tame for me so I went down the fast one. It was fully enclosed and a totally different experience. lol My last time down it, I ended up doing a complete circle around the inside of it. Talk about freaky. lol There was also a lazy river that we went around several times. That was totally relaxing. There was also an activity pool that we enjoyed but we liked the slides the best. I was able to grab several discount tickets that are good on certain Sundays so it was a cheap way to have alot of fun today and beat the heat to boot. Going to see if there are any more discount tickets left for Aug. 11 and if so, we are going then as well but this time go early and stay till closing, pack a picnic lunch. lol I haven't ate in the rain but I do like to be spontaneous and run outside and sometimes play in the rain. I remember one day my daughter and I went shopping. It was sunny out going in but coming out it was pouring rain but warm out like today was. E1 was standing near the building waiting for the rain to cease but I looked at my daughter and seid 'Want to run in the rain?' and she said yes so we counted to 3 and ran to the car, laughing like lunatics all the way. lol

This one had 3 slides. Fast one, medium one and a tube slide that you rode down using a tube. They also had one called "Hurricane". Very fast and at the end was a huge circular large area that you spun around till your weight pulled you down into 8 feet 6 inches of water. They also had a "lazy river". I loved it all.

I love to be out in the rain as long as it is a warm rain and there are no thunderstorms. I really hate thunderstorms. But one day we had a cookout at the lake and we had a nice steak. It was at a time that I didn't get to eat steak very much so I was really looking forward to it. A storm came along and it was pouring and thundering and lightening. Everyone else was packing up there stuff and I just sat there eating my steak. A couple of bolts hit real close so I grabbed my plate and started for the car, all the while still eating my steak.lol.

I haven't sat out in the rain at home. Last time I went fishing, my brother and I had taken the day off and arranged it weeks before. The weather forcast was looking glum, but we decided to go anyway. This was one of the reservoirs stocked with trout I discussed with you previously, so it cost us £20 each to fish for the day (hence we were determined to get every last minute!) The rain was on & off all day, ranging from light sprinklings to torrential downpours. I was prepared though, with waterproofs on I just sat there fishing as usual. The only thing I had to do was close my tackle box and put away my thermos! I'm sorry to hear your son has taken advantage of your loan. I guess all parents are robbed blind by their kids, but not repaying a loan of any serious amount is out of order. It sounds like you have the same outlook on it as I do. I never lend out anything I can't afford to lose. That way, if I'm not repaid I don't get into money trouble myself. If someone doesn't repay a loan to me they don't get anything else. Simple but effective.

No can't say I ever purposely sat out in the rain while eating..LOL--but when my mom and I used to go to Florida years ago, like clockwork every day at around 3 in the afternoon it'd be a torrential downpour...everyone be scurrying about trying to take cover..and here's the real laugh..they'd do the same if they had been swimming in the pool..like, duh? You're swimming in the pool you're already wet..so why duck for cover...I used to welcome the rain, and stay put in the pool ..uh, well, unless lightening was involved..LOL

There is a couple of things that one just should not lend to anybody, grandpa Bob. Amongst them are: Money, fountain pens, ones own wife and pianos. Didn`t you know this? So you got to learn your lessons the hard way. That is drama in true life.

Lol. Eating watermelons in the rain. Hehehe. People will think your weird but it's this random stuffs we do as a family that makes us want to go home every night. I hit a difficult spot last month with my father and were not speaking to each other for days. We did not resolved it by sitting down to talk, Instead it resolved itself because we consciously or unconsciously took the time to sit down and have a meal together.

When the rain comes down warm and refreshing, I like to stand outside and let it soak my clothing. When the kids were little I would let them play in the rain if it was warm and there were no thunderstorms.

No, not on purpose. Though I did go canoing this past week, and it pored on us. We decided that we would stay and play in the rain while canoing down the river!

Okay my family is all PIGS!! Between my wife, myself, and my daughter we ate a half watermelon. And this was a HUGE watermelon remind you. Hahaha!! After we got done my wife stared at the watermelon seeds floating in the juice on her plate, then stared at the yard. At that time I said, "We've got enough stuff growing." HAHAHAHAHA!!! Sounds like you let bygoes be bygones with your son. I am glad, I feel you will never get your money back. I lent my daughter and he husband 800 dollars and have not seen it and we really need it. I asked her for it and she have me 50 dollars and that is all. Oh well she is still one of the loves of my lives, but I cannot lend her any more money. I have sat out in the rain, I have played in the rain, I have never ate watermellon in the rain. In Califorina most of our rain is cold so we do not have much chance to get wet in the rain unless we want to get cold. I have been working in the rain and continued to work until the work was done. One time a friend and I went camping in the rain. We sat the tent up in the rain and it poured all night, with thunder and lightening. I am particually deaf I could not hear the thunder. The rain ran downhill into our zipper of the tent and made a pool at the other end inside of the tent. Oh well the next day we dried out.

I love being outside in the rain, especially if it's a warm rain. I also let my son play in the rain when it's a warm rain. He loves it as much as I do.

Sounds very refreshing to sit outside in when it's sprinkling, especially while eating watermelon. Won't even need to wash your hands, LOL. Sometimes I like to sit outside when it sprinkles, but only when it's really warm or a sun shower. I don't like to get cold.

Yesterday I had a couple softball games and during my last one it began to pour. The skies opened up and we all became soaked. By the time I got home, I was already soaked o I just sat out in the rain with my friends talking and goofing around. Sometimes the best memories are the ones you never thought you would remember

We sit outside every single time it storms. (on the porch of course) (we being me, my niece & boyfriend) If it is just raining, no lightening, me & my niece (2 yrs old) always go out & play or dance in the rain. She loves it. I guess I'm still a big kid too. Haha. Glad that y'all had a good time anyhow.

Yes... On the 4th of July we were going to watch a small fireworks display at a local tavern, and as soon as they began it started to rain! and then it quickly started to pour, but we all just sat there for a while hoping it would stop! It didn't, but the fireworks were saved and we had the display two nights later, which was friday night.. this time under clear skies!:)

I love being outside in the rain- We make a point of it to play outside when it is raining- with no umbrella- as long as it is a warm rain- (summer). We don’t usually eat in the rain though- but I can see it would not hurt the watermelon- I like to swim in the rain- I don’t know why- Sounds like you guys had a fun time at the waterpark- that stinks that your son didn’t pay you back the money he owes- I would never do that to my parents- they bailed me out a few times when money was tight- but I always paid them back!

First off, I have to say that I think you're taking the right approach about your son. I used to be the same way as him, and believe me, it will probably take a really hard virtual kick in the face before he wises up and starts taking responsibility for his actions. Now on to the fun stuff. It sounds like you had an awesome day. Even the part about sitting out in the rain sounded like fun...of course it's been so darned hot here that anything involving being in cool water sounds good. LOL I've actually gone for walks in the rain without an umbrella. It's so refreshing and peaceful. And I don't have to worry about the dog pulling me all over the place because he'd rather stay at home in his comfy toasty doghouse where it's dry.

I must say I love water parks and water rides. I can't say that I have ever sat out in the rain, more like ran for shelter! :) However, it does sound like a fun whimsical thing to do. I shall have to try it sometime Grandpa!:)
