imagine this... if you have studied so hard all your life to be a engineer...only to find out two years into the job that it is not your cup of tea but you are so financially committed that you cannot just change your job scope at the snap of your fingers...but you are so frustrated at the job you are at...and each day is getting to be more of a drag, compared to the last what would you do?

easy answer. I know I would up and cut my losses and move on. I have not been in that exact situation but in my life i do know that it is too long to be miserable. If I am not happy in my situation, I leave it if I know that there is nothing I can do to make it better. I have started up over so many times. You really can't put a price tag on peace of mind.

Thanks for the response. Like I mentioned before... if you uproot yourself from your current position, you will most likely have to take a hefty pay cut for a career switch. With the current financial commitment... eg kids, car, housing loan repayments...etc etc... you are not able to survive without the current salary. Putting yourself in such a position, what would you have done?
