When you think about fussy eaters, you automatically assume it's children that are mainly fussy eaters right? But what about adults, there must be fussy eaters in the form of adults surely?I've been accused of being fussy in the past, but to be honest I am not that fussy, I love my food and I know what I like, ok so I am not very adventurous when it comes to trying new foods I can't eat butter or margerine it makes me bilious so it's difficult when going out to sandwich places or where they serve sandwiches that they are not made with butter or margarine. Yet I can eat cheese LOL!There aren't many foods I don't like but I wouldn't say I'm a fussy eater Do you know or live with a fussy eater who's adult and how do you deal with them. Do you cater to their needs or do you get impatient with them?

My sister isn't good with meat and she can be a bit picky, but not as much as she used to be as a kid..I have a problem with my Son that he isn't into fish at the moment. I did ask him though if I disguised the fish into somerthing else would he eat it..he said he would try, so that is a start lol. Oh by the way I cooked cod in the oven with olive oil, lemon juice salt and pepper and oregano with a knob of butter and water..really made a lovely meal.

I live with the fussiest of them all, he is like a child when I make something new in the house, he smells it and touches it and will only eat it if others are seen eating it, which makes it very difficult when I am trying to serve his children dinner and their own father does not want it, he is getting better with timee, now he pretty much knows that whatever I cook is really good, but he is not as trusting as I am on trying new foods, perhaps in time!! Be well, my friend!

I don't live with a fussy eater, but I work with a few. It makes it very difficult to decide what is on for lunch. It drives me nuts when people won't even try anything new. We have every ethnicity in restaurants you can imagine here, and I like to try new things, but, some people no way. I don't get it, if you don't like it, don't have it again, but, if you don't try, how will you ever know??

Well I guess I am a fussy eater myself, - so I guess I have the utmost patience with others. Not only am I vegetarian (no meat, no fish, no animal products), but I dislike nuts intensely - I'm not exactly allergic to them but they make me feel sick so I don't eat them at all! I also abhor a long list of things that make me feel sick even to smell - coffee and curry being the main obvious ones. As I do most of the food shopping in the house it's not really an issue for me - as long as I have a house full of fruit, salads, chocolate and pizza - I can survive!!! Oh - and I also live with a fussy eater -thoughtat is not rally through his choice, as my beloved had a stomach ulcer a few years ago and always has to be careful about it returning, so he has to eat everything quite bland with no sauces or rich foods, and nothing hot. Guess we make a good pair!! LOL!

I love all foods. I am not a fussy eater. My children love all foods and will eat anything. My hubby is not a fussy eater and will eat anything. I am a lucky lady. It is so easy to cook for them. My children don't live at home anymore but I have my son and his wife over often for supper. My daughter-in-law isn't fussy either. My daughter lives in another province but when she's home, which is often, she isn't hard to feed either. I can't imagine what it would be like to have fussy eaters in my family. Even if they didn't like something, and I liked it, I would still cook it and then make them something else, but I don't have to worry about that.

My daughter in law is a fussy eater, she isn't as bad as she used to be. I like everything, I cook for my taste, if you don't like it, oh well, have a peanut butter sandwich. She don't like onions, well I cook with onions. She still doesn't like onion but can deal with them cooked in food. Fussy kids become fussy adults.

Some people might consider me a fussy eater. I'm a vegetarian - but I don't like brocalli, eggplant, most beans, or mushrooms. I also don't eat anything that feels like an eyeball - grapes, raw blueberries, chickpeas, tapioca, etc. On the other hand though - I'm not going to freak out if my food is cooked with meat. Like my mom puts Italian sausage links in her pasta. I just pick it out.

Great Discussion. My ex boyfriend was and still is a fussy eater..He is from Ghana and because I don't cook ghanian dishes that is what he wanted me to cook.. When I did the food never came out the way he wanted...So I told him that whatever I fix is what I cook..I fix meals that are not as comples as cooking foods from where he comes from...I learned how to cook some dishes but it was never enough...But I did try...Sometimes he would cook...and he can cook...Plus when it comes to cooking ghanian dishes they take hours to cook...and when I am cooking home at 10:00pm I don't want to be in the kitchen that long...

Not in this house, there are so few things that I actually dislike you could count them on your hands. Liver other than Pate, cooked spinach, celery, peppers,or onion (I love them raw) Asparagus raw or cooked. I have no problem with eating the offal from animals except liver. I love to try new foods and different foods from all parts of the world.

I don't know if you want to call my man a fuss eater but he never liked my cooking. I grew up in Toronto where I was exposed to such a wonderful diversity of foods but he grew up here in a very rural fishing community. I find many of the dishes here bland and unappealing to me but he loves them. First time I ever cooked for him I made a spicy spanish sausage rice dish which made him need several glasses of water and go to the bathroom several times. I was fine as I was used to this type of food. I have become a vegetarian since then so I am eating the tofu and he is eating his fresh smealts. LOL

i am probably the most picky of all the eaters in my house! but i do the cooking, i will make foods that have things in it that i dont like and figure out how to get um out later. its funny i have never liked tomatos ever since i was little and i know that most kids dont but that has not changed for me but my daughter has loved them her whole life. I remember one time when she was about 1 and a half and i was at her dads moms house and she had cut a tomatoe and left it on the cutting board we steped outside to grab some food of the grill and the tomato was gone we yelled at my daughters uncle who was a teenager at the time and he wasnt even there. Then around the corner comes my daughter with a big smile and tomato seeds from ear to ear it was the cutest thing. When we go out to eat and something on my plate has tomatoes on it ill give them to her and so many people have commented that its funny because usually its the other way around.

Oh Yeah! My husband is very particular on how his food is prepared. He hates alot of the foods that my kids love. He can't stand Sloppy Joe's, hotdogs, macaroni and cheese. I have to fix him something on the side if I fix this stuff for my kids. He said he ate so much of this stuff as a kid and he can't stand them anymore. He also is very picky about how well cooked his foods are. It has to be crispy, but not burnt. Gotta love him though.

My ex is a picky eater. I never could figure out how she was so big and still be such a picky eater. She turned her nose up at alot of good things.

My ex was a fussy eater. He would eat things, say they were good, then found out they were things that he claims he did not like (zucchini) then say he was lying about liking it other then losing face. He was worse then a 3 year old when it came to eating his food, he didn't eat anything, he dissected it, he took out anything he did not like. If you make a stew - where everything ends up tasting alike..he still would take out things he did not like... My son, unfortunately, got this gene from him. Get this, he did not like mashed potatoes, but he liked raw potatoes.

My daughter is this type of eater...she is so picky that I will seldom even make her a plate...she must do s herself...LOL I do not really cater to her desires (well, often) although, there are times when I make complete meals based on something she says that she is craving and only Mom can make right...OK, so I do cater to her..she is after all, my only daughter...guess I created that monster and must live with the ramifications.... Her eating habits are funny to me....she will only eat the middle of a cake...or cornbread...none of her foods can touch....she eats the toppings off of pizza, absolutely no fat on any of her meats.... There is only one thing that my husband is picky about and that is "no salt"...he says it comes from his time in te service where they did not cook with many spices and he prefers his food without salt...at the same time...he loves black pepper...nothing too spicy though... Good topic, my friend....

hahah i think this post made me me appreciate my family because i don't think we're fussy eaters in general. i dont think i'm in any way picky or fussy when it comes to food. i eat anything. my family gets appalled sometimes, how i can constantly buy food anywhere without even worrying where it came from . i love my streetfood, although i'm pretty careful about where i buy. my mom doesn't eat veal though. veal and any other form of dairy. which is not a problem, since i dont have that problem, LOL!

I can handle children who are fussy eaters, but I don't have much patience with adults who picks on their food. I remember having a fight with a friend back in college because we are sharing food (well it's cheaper that way) and she played as in played on the food we bought because it's not to her liking. I mean I did asked her what she wants and she told me to go ahead and choose, but when I choose she did not like so went ahead and played with it. I grew up in a household where playing with food is not allowed and here she is a woman almost in her 20's behaving like a spoiled 3 years old. Guess what I did, picked the plate of food, place it in a tray with the rest of my food and transfered to another table, took our other friends weeks before we would speak to each other again. And yes I told her what I think of her and immature behavior.
