Does anyone else here get black bears prowling around? What do you do?

Oh I think that's very dangerous, specially if you have kids around. You should advise the local security there about the sightings. They know what to do.But for now, keep yourself and your family in the house. Lock your doors plus don't leave food out. It causes bears to come over in search of food. Anyways, goodluck. Here's a bear joke: The Real Story It's a sunny morning in the Big Forest and the Bear family is just waking up. Baby Bear goes downstairs and sits in his small chair at the table. He looks into his small bowl. It is empty! "Who's been eating my porridge?" he squeaks. Daddy Bear arrives at the table and sits in his big chair. He looks into his big bowl. It is also empty! "Who's been eating my porridge?" he roars. Mommy Bear points her finger through the door from the kitchen and yells, "For Pete's sake, how many times do we have to go through this? It was Mommy Bear who got up first. I Am Out of Here It was Mommy Bear who woke everybody else in the house up. It was Mommy Bear who unloaded the dishwasher from last night and put everything away. It was Mommy Bear who went out in the cold early morning air to fetch the newspaper. It was Mommy Bear who set the table. It was Mommy Bear who put the cat out, cleaned the litter box and filled the cat's water and food dish. And now that you've decided to come downstairs and grace me with your presence ... listen good because I'm only going to say this one more time ... I haven't made the stupid porridge yet!!" =)

Here i Western Massachusetts we do get many animals coming into our back yard including skunks, raccoons, squirrels, bob cats, foxes, and black bears. Just last year I saw one that was abut 359 to 400 pounds and saw where it was going . I got into my car to the place that I knew that it was going and hid in the bushes (with my camera). When it got within abut 15 or 29 foot I jumped out to take it's picture and it turned around so fast that even if it was not dark in the woods that I probably would not have gotten a good picture of it. When I did pusht the shutter on the camera the flash did not go off and the picture (even f the trees) did not come out. I do have some picture of three cubs in February from 2 years ago that I took in a park near by.
