How many teeth does your one year old have?

I'm just curious to see how many teeth other one year old's have? My son just cut his 7th and 8th tooth both together. He was a preemie, so I'm wondering if 8 teeth is standard for a one year old, or if thats a little less. He got his first tooth at 6 months old. His adjusted age is really only 9 months right now though because he was born 3 months early. Thanks for responding!

I have a 10 month old and he has 5 teeth at the moment, with another on the way..But they are all different anyway, so I wouldnt worry too much.

My daughter had gotten her 2nd tooth when she was 10 months. It is neat to see how different they all are.

Whoa! That's twice as much as my son has! He only has 4 teeth right now. He got his first two teeth really late...around 9 months. He will be a year old this coming Saturday. I think he's really behind on his teeth though...

My mom used to say that the longer they take to get them, the longer they will have them. Meaning, that they will last longer and not get cavities. I'm sure she made that up, but it always made her feel better when my little sister didn't get her teeth until farther along. Your son will probably pop all of his teeth in at once!

My husband said he read that somewhere too, but I don't where he got his information. Oooh, getting the teeth in all at the same time...as long as it's painless and cry free I'll be okay with that! :)

I'm not sure what cutting all of the teeth at once would feel like, but my son has always cut them 2 at a time. It's really weird to me that all of his teeth have been like that. Out of 8 teeth, he has only had 4 teething experiences since it's been double upped. He was always okay with some tylenol and something to chew on. I wonder if the rest of his teeth will come in at 2 at a time like that.

Thanks! I think he is finally growing at a normal rate now. As of yesterday, he is 20 pounds 12 ounces. He just learned how to sit up at the begining of this month, so hopefully he will be hitting the other milestones soon too ;) Thanks for responding!

My son got his seventh and eighth teeth right around his nine month mark. He didn't get anymore until he was 16 months old. Now he is 17 months old and has 10. I would say number 11 and 12 will probably both be in by the time he reaches 18 months old. Then hopefully we will have a few weeks with no teething. But really the molars weren't as bad as I thought they would be. Maybe it's because he's more vocal now and can tell us they hurt, so we give him something to numb them a little bit.

My daughter is now 13 months old & she has 6 teeth. I'm waiting for her outter 2 bottom ones to come through! Her first one came through at 8 months & then they seemed to come in near 2 at a time - usually only a couple days apart! I think all kids vary & it sounds as though your little guy is coming along just fine! I have noticed people always mention premature babies being so far behind but honestly, i haven't noticed it - my niece & 2nd cousin were both early but they still seemed to develop like all the other kids that came on time or late even!

Thanks for sharing! I guess every child has their own rate for the teeth. My son has been a little delayed in some things, but not much. I think that if he did't have medical equipment attached to him sometimes, that he'd be a little farther along. he's getting it though! Thanks for responding!

My son had 12 teeth I believe when he turned 1. My daughter on the other hand only had 2 teeth. I know my husband didn't get his first tooth until after he turned one. I have a friend whose son had all his teeth even his 2 year molars at age one. It was kind of weird to see him smile when he was 4 months old and he had 8 teeth already. He looked so much older. All babies are different.

Thanks for sharing! It seems like my son is getting his teeth at a pretty normal rate even though he was born early. That's pretty neat!
