I do not attribute it to bad luck, misfortune or curse. I believe in the law of cause and effects. I attribute it to my lack of good karma. Nothing is permanent, both the bad or good will never stay forever. It will go away. The only thing we need to do is to look at the brighter side and think of the best. There is always blessings in disguise.

Dear Sukumar794, I am an accountant by profession. I am looking after the accounts of 3 companies. I keep my accounts always on line. Whereas another accountant is there. He is looking after only 2 companies. His work volume is lesser than mine. He never maintain the accounts in order. When such is the situation, my increasement is always lesser comparing the increasement offered to another accountant. What would you say. It is bad luck, misfortune or curse. I always considered it is a curse because I am not luck in many ways.

Poor choices in the beginning of my endeavors have left me with difficulty, but I believe that with proper planning I can take control. Believing in luck or curses or misfortune implies that I believe that things are not within my control, and that I will never be in better circumstances. Working sincerely is not the same as working smart.

In these circumstances, I would have to ask myself how I could work smart, more than work hard.. I do not attribute things to bad luck or misfortune - just karma.

I have to believe all things happen for a reason. In some cases I may have made bad choices. And sometimes it feels like I have been cursed, that someone has it out for me. But in the end I am not always in control. I leave things in God's hands. I believe He has a plan for me. I have to believe in that or I wouldn't make it through each day.
