Do you snore? How did you know that you snore? I am fortunate that my partner doesn't snore... Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. The sound may be soft or loud and unpleasant. The structures are usually the uvula and soft palate. The irregular airflow is caused by a blockage, due to causes including allergies, throat weakness causing the throat to close during sleep, mispositioned jaw, often caused by tension in muscles, Fat gathering in and around the throat and obstruction in the nasal passageway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snore

My partner does snore. And often times I am terrified by it, specially when it seems he's no longer breathing. I just try to hug him or change his position. He wakes up a little bit and stops snoring. It's really a problem, but I'm no more disturbed bout him snoring than him not breathing at all. Whew. I don't really snore, but I'm not disturbed by the snoring. It's ok for me. I just want him to breathe normally otherwise, it's pretty ok. I think the main reason for his snoring is his tongue. Any guys know how to deal with this one? I really want to help him get better and safer. I love him. =)

His stopping breathing is called sleep apnea...my husband has it too. The doctor recommended he go to one of those sleep clinics for observation, but it cost about $1500 for one night, so he hasn't done it yet. I keep nudging him too or patting him or even waking him to turn over.

Whoah! $1,500.00!!! Sheez! But could these studies even really treat sleep apnea? Whew, that's way expensive that's around almost P50,000.00 in my country (not to mention air-fare). Oh, yeah I try to nudge and hug him to shift movement. But I think there's something to do with his tongue. I think his tongue blocks the passage that's why he snores and gets that sleep apnea. Whew. I'm worried really about these things.

I snore when im very tired from lack of sleep from being on the laptop blah, blahing too long.My boyfriend definitly snores to the point that during the week we sleep in seperate rooms because its impossible to stop him.I wake him up and hes goes right back at it again. He wakes up at 3:30 in the morning to go work in the woods driving a machine to cut wood and returns at 6:30pm.So hes quite burnt out.Its 1-2hrs to drive in the woods. Its far.He works 5-6days/week.The snoring is driving me nuts to the point i would like to glue his mouth shut.

I don't snore, but my husband and cat do. So I have to listen to them all night long, and I don't sleep.

I snore. I swore up and down that I didn't for the longest time of course, like most people. Usually if I'm snoring very loudly, my husband will just wake me up, I'll change position, and stop snoring, for a while at least. Of course, since my husband works nights and I work days, the only time we're sleeping at the same time is typically on his nights off, so it's not too big a problem for us. Actually I think my sleep apnea (stopping breathing while sleeping) has been a bigger problem... it terrifies my husband when he wakes up and I'm not breathing.

If I do not have two pillows under me, I will snore. My husband throws one of his pillows on the floor and he snores. I know that I am allergic to certain plants and to perfume, so that could account for my snoring also I used to have acid reflex, in fact if I do not watch myself, I may get it again. I usually sleep on my side and I find that does help.

Hubby has snored for the 37 years we've been married. I nudge him, and shake him when it gets bad. Recently, I started listening to the radio during the night. It helps to drown him out and gives me something else to concentrate on so I can go to sleep. His doctor says there is something about the shape of his mouth/throat that causes sleep apnea and the snoring. He's supposed to try one of those sleep clinics, but they cost about $1500 a night and we don't have that kind of money.

I don't snore but unfortunately my husband does. He started snoring about five years back when he started to have a big appetite to eating. He likes eating especially my cooking. Sometimes I feel guilty for cooking his favorite dishes because he will a lot and never think about his health. However I pity him if I don't cook deliciously too. At first he doesn't know he's snoring, but I told him about it because I am starting to get worried about it. i also told him to control his appetite and not eat too much at one sitting. He is aware of this, thank God and he's trying on a diet too. Not much of a diet to me, actually, but at least he eats less than before even though I still cook his favorite.

like you I am also fortunate that my husband doesn't snore so everynight I'm up to a good rest. However, he is not as fortunate as me because I do snore..although not all the time but when I'm to stressed or to tired I know I snore, he often wkes me up and ask me to change my sleeping position.

I don't snore, but my husband snores loudly. At the beginning I disliked it because it was hard for me to fall asleep. As time goes by, I get used to it. If I can't hear his snores, maybe I'm unable to sleep now:)

My boyfriend snores so loudly that he wakes people in the other room. I nudge him and he stops for a while. I have actually video taped him in the night so he could see what the rest of us go through. I snore when I am tired and only for a little while.

We both snore. He snores very loudly especially when he is very tired and it completely keeps me from sleeping. I usually try to fall asleep first or wait until I am so tired that it doesn't matter how loud he is snoring. I don't think that my snoring bothers him much though.

I believe I don't snore because, for the last thirteen years, my wife never mentioned that to me. She sleeps lightly while I sleep deeply. I never heard her snore.
