Wondering...Do people read the post than reply or just reply without reading them?.. I ask because in the my last discussion I asked if anyone had problems getting their child to take baths.. I went back and re-read what I wrote and I didn't see anywhere I was giving my son cold baths.. Two people said not to give him those.. I thought to myself did they read this or are they just answering it for a point?? Does anyone else here get the feeling that might be the case?

Yes I have had one discussion about my mother's health problems and a couple of people made suggestions that I had already tried but I don't know if they didn't read the whole discussion or they had trouble understanding. I think those 2 were from another country where English wasn't the main language so that could have been why. I do see replies though where obviously they didn't read the discussion.

It could have been yes.. I'm thinking people from other countries don't understand English very well which is ok.. Cause I don't understand what they say either half the time.. I don't have a problem here though.. Everything is pretty much English and pretty simple to read when being read that is.. In a way it's kind of funny though because You read the replies and your like in this huh stage or what are you talking about part.. than kind of giggle and move on.. Thanks for your reply!!

Yes me to, very good thank you! LOL, Do ya get things like that as well? I know many aren't reading the whole post if they read any of it at all. It kills me too. I think they are on some sort of marathon, posting to anything and everything as fast as they can trying to rake up points.

I read all of the discussion, but I know a lot of people skim the discussion. Also, they sometimes inject their 'wisdom' upon you before you can make the actual mistake THEY are talking about, but you did not list.

The funny thing is though that the post is right above this box we reply in and you can always read that. I've done that before myself actually.. I sometimes for get what they are asking... But I do think people just do it for points and not really have a care what's in the post itself... Thanks for your reply..

I think sometimes people just scan the post and sometimes something is lost in translation if the responder isn't fluent in English.

They are all kinds of people and as always, time is one main and big consideration. Most people zoomed in straight on the discussion topic question and skim the discussion content. I confess I do this from time to time too. Unless the poster posts really very interesting discussions, it does not make sense to spend good time to slowly read each and every word. And so, I guess most people just... reply straight. :P

Hello. I hawe seen some strange responds sometime and that is when people only read the topic and it can bee realy funny when you hawe made a topic not realated to the discussion and the responds are what the topics are about.

Geesh lol I can tell he/she isn't reading much these days just spamming the forum so sad to see this.. It makes me wondering if this person is doing it to all the replies.. Makes me wondering people even bother to post replies sometimes... Thank you for your's!!

I did not read that discussion, but they could just be assuming that the reason your child does not like baths is because they are cold. They could have said that it is important to make sure the temperature is comfortable. Having said that, I know that people just respond as fast as they can to as many as they can without reading much of the discussion at all. I baby sat a child once who was so scared or upset by water that she would not play in the water, splash in a puddle, and she screamed bloody murder when I tried to wash her face. They moved, and I did not have her long, so I did not solve the problem. How old is your son? Guess I ought to check your other discussion.

I always read all the discussions like every word and then think a little before replying. English is not my mother language so sorry if the quality of my replying is not good. I got proof for that as I only have 6 points in the star lol. This thing never happened with me. All discussions I started got good responses. I think there are some people in your friend's list who are just increasing their number of posts and not stressing on quality.

I recently read a post about a musical group where the poster asked if anyone liked the group and named two songs as his favorites. In my reply I agreed that the band was good but pointed out that one of the songs was not theirs but another group's song. Not one of the other commenters noticed this. They all just blindly agreed, which makes me think they didn't even know the group he referred to. One response simply parroted the post and then spammed some money-making website. I am fairly new to MyLot and I think it could be greatly improved if they rewarded people for on-topic responses or even for only pretending to care about the subject of the post. I realize that for some, English is not their first language and that isn't a problem - but if you don't know what the post is about, for goodness sake, don't respond!

I think that there are certain people here, who reply only for either the money or just to post. Most of time it doesn't make any sense what they really are posting about.
